How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

We booked this hotel as they said they don’t accommodate stag or hen parties, however about halfway through the holiday the place was swarmed with a massive stag party of maybe 30 or more men who were very loud and rowdy and honestly ruined our holiday. It was such a shame as the hotel is lovely but after that I’d be afraid to go back. Also wouldn’t recommend eating at the pool bar.
Lovely hotel and they gave us a brilliant big room, loved the indoor pool facilities and also the outdoor. Close enough to the old town for us to walk in and out but also cheap in an Uber if we didn’t feel like walking

The kitchenette was poorly equipped in several ways. There was a very limited supply of cutlery, glasses (drink, water, and wine) and there was only one outlet for the countertop appliances (toaster, coffee maker, kettle). The coffee maker was very poor and incapable of producing a hot, full-flavoured brew. We actually had to go purchase some extra glasses.
Pool-view apartments were comfortable and very spacious. The master bedroom was huge, with very comfortable king-size bed, and very generous storage and closet facilities. The extended balcony had views of the pool and the ocean. It was a great facility for an extended 2-week stay.

- Staff worked hard to keep the outdoor pool deck clean but it still seemed gritty to the touch. - We were on the top floor but there still was noise when chairs and furniture in adjacent apartments were moved. - The elevators did not function smoothly (hard breaking effect when target floor reached.
- 1 Bedroom apartment was large and well maintained. - Staff provided very good service. - Great value for money (30-day rate) -.Beds we're quite comfortable - The location is very good - relatively quiet with everything needed plus beaches close by. - The balcony doors provided lots of light and a nice view of the surroundings.

Could of done with more towels for our 4 people staying in our room

While the reception staff were so considerate allocating us an apartment in the quietest part of the hotel, we could still hear the scraping of chairs on the yoke floors above and beside us. If only the hotel had sone soundproofing we’d be back in a heartbeat as otherwise it was perfect.
Excellent location, extremely clean and housekeeping staff in particular were so attentive. Overall we couldn’t fault any of the staff, everyone we encountered was super helpful. The hotel is beside a big supermarket that had everything we could need, we travelled with our 8 month old so it was an added convenience!

Staff members. And paying for towels. My firs time in the hotel that I have to pay for towels. I don’t mind the deposit.

Inside pool area felt quite claustrophobic but in better weather I probably wouldn't have tried to find it even.
We were self catering. The hotel was ideally situated in between the old town and New Town.

Not close to beach nearby.
Very spacious one bedroom with kitchen and living room. Perfect for longer stay. Close to everything needed during vacation time. A huge supermarket across the street.
