How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Can't think of anything, it was great!
We did not realize breakfast would be included. The fridge was stocked with an awesome assortment and fresh pastries were brought each morning. Amazing!

There really was nothing not to like. We had a great stay.
Great and helpful staff. Clean rooms with all the amenities of home. Yummy breakfast. Great location and not too noisy at night, despite being right in the heart of downtown Lisbon. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Excellent location, friendly helpful staff, delicious breakfast with fresh breads/pastries delivered every morning. Rooms cleaned every day when we returned. Would highly recommend.

A toaster would have been nice to go along with the rest of the well-stocked kitchenette.
Excellent location (easy walk to all the great neighbourhoods of Old Lisbon), kind & very helpful staff, great size, very quiet, comfy bed, breakfast fixings & bread/pastry delivery, tons of thoughtful amenities (robes, slippers, wine, Marshall Bluetooth speaker, etc.), and nice big bathroom & shower with big, fluffy towels. Also great to have a washing machine! We had an issue with a leak in our bathroom, so had to pack up & move rooms for our last night, but the staff treated us very well and made sure we were taken care of. 🙏

Laundry cycle was super long to finish. No dryer, but our clothes did dry on the hangers supplied. Hot water was an issue - not sure if doing one small load of laundry had anything to do with it.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The bottle of wine waiting for us was a nice gesture. It was a good location to walk the various neighborhoods (Alfama, Baixa, and Chiado). Quiet at night. Having breakfast breads and pastries delivered each morning was nice.

Basically everything. Great location at the heart of old town. Nicely furnished with good breakfast provided. We liked the fresh rolls and bread in the morning waiting for us at our door. The staff were extremely nice and helpful. Strongly recommended 👍👏

View from the balcony is an old building being renovated. Quite noisy with windows open.
Location is great, easy to walk everywhere. Staff very helpful with lovely personal touches.

The staff were so friendly and helpful! The apartment was very clean, modern and lovely for a family. All the little touches with the food, wine, and fridge filled with basics were amazing! Definitely recommend.

This is lovely small boutique hotel where service is highly prioritized. Staff members were friendly, and immensely helpful; from dinner recommendations to coffee machine & washer instructions, they were always kind. The location is very central to many Lisbon highlights. Room was very clean and breakfast was delivered/stocked in the room so super easy to eat when you prefer. We’ll visit again.
