The bathroom needed a door to separate it from the bedroom. Checking in process could have been smoother. No instructions about barbecue which was offered, Some kitchen basics would have been useful. e.g washing up liquid, salt & pepper, bin bags. A little bit of local information re buses, taxis and local area would have been helpful

As other reviewers have mentioned, I found it a little strange that we didn't meet a single member of staff during our stay at all and that there was no one to greet us upon arrival , and that no bottle of wine or anything was left to welcome us; I had repeatedly informed the owners of our expected arrival time yet when we arrived, we were wandering around the site, wondering whether we were in the right place and where to park our car, which was our property, how we could find the key etc. I then messaged the owner via Booking.com and was immediately phoned to tell us where to go.

beautiful place set in the vineyards, nicely renovated property which was tastefully decorated, with spacious rooms and comfortable beds lovely swimming pool (though a bit small, we were mostly the only ones in there) - our children (age 7 and 12) loved it and grounds (we enjoyed sitting outdoors in the evenings in the communal area, playing card games etc). great location only 5 mins drive from the beach and 10 mins from the palaces of Sintra, easy to walk into town to the nearby (excellent) bakery / cafe and supermarket the owners very generously allowed us a late check out for free to watch the Women's World Cup match - much appreciated

This is a beautiful quinta with extremely helpful owners who managed to solve my mistake when booking many rooms for a group of 10 people. They were super flexible and found another beautiful room (for free !) They offered us also great wines from their cellar (again for free !) And they helped us with a lot of other services and local advices. Next to quinta there is fabulous bakery you can get excellent breakfast so if you are not into cooking yourself, you have always a way out. And they have a great pool.

Everything was perfect. Beautiful property. Comfortable beds and rooms. Gorgeous furnishings/decorations. Close to beautiful beaches and delicious restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay! Will certainly repeat in the summer.

Some very minor improvements to the property would be a plug for the kitchen sink, washing up liquid (to negate buying a large bottle for four days!), and an airer to dry clothes - but these were minor inconveniences.

We stayed at Quinta Pedra Firme with our sons (12 and 9) in August. We had a large two bedroom, two storey property, which was spacious and comfortable for us all. Paul and Marie were very welcoming and helpful, and we really felt like we were sharing in the calm and beauty of the whole property. The pool was a hit with the boys, creating a highlight each day after time spent exploring the area. The weather was incredible, allowing us to enjoy trips to Sintra, Cabo da Roca and Praia das Maçãs (although the sea is FREEZING, even after a very hot summer!). We also enjoyed a couple of great meals at Ribeirinha de Colares, a short walk from the property. Highly recommended.

We were woken up both nights of our stay around 1:30am and then an hour later on the second evening, by garage doors and clanging gates, extremely loud talking and laughing right outside the bedroom window. These were not other hotel guests but (I believe) family and friends of the hosts.

Lovely spacious apartment, nicely furnished and appointed. Friendly and helpful hosts. Nice garden and pool area.

My only observation is that there should be an additional second chair in the suite. This is not a problem in good weather as there is plenty of out door seating but in bad weather if you wanted to sit inside there was only one seat the other person would have to sit on the bed. An addition of a magnifying mirror in the bathroom would be a benefit.

The Quinta is within walking distance of the small village of Colares. There is a wonderful bakery that is open from 6.30am so breakfast is not a problem as the accommodation does not offer any meals. Paul and Maria the hosts of the Quinta are charming and gave us a list of excellent restaurants in the vicinity. To stay at the Quinta you would be at a disadvantage if you did not have your own transport. The beds and pillows are really comfortable and they use top quality linen and towels. The property has been reformed and decorated to top standard.

Beautiful property with Vineyards. The hosts are great, very accommodating, ready to help at all times. The property is in a perfect location with its own microclimate and not far from the beach. Well equipped room and kitchen.
