Wishing we could have stayed longer.

We can not adequately express the wonderful experience that is CoimbraAmeias. The welcome from our host, Paula, was extraordinary. She treated us to fruit and port during the check-in process. She gave us a comprehensive orientation to the area and the locations of sites that interested us, and included the historic background of her house and city. Paula provided maps and restaurant recommendations as well. Her warmth and energy made us feel as though we were with family. Breakfast was delicious and served outside on the patio. We were within walking distance to center of historic sites. The decor, views, and comfort of CoimbraAmeias surpassed our expectations. This is an opportunity not to be missed!

The detail to aesthetic, the cleanliness, the quality of everything.

We cannot say enough good things about this lovely place. From the moment we were greeted by Paula I felt like we were family. The detail to each room, the quality of the bedding and our special detached cottage, the incredible views from the outdoor patio, the superb breakfast from Luis every morning, the detailed advice and lesson on the history of Coimbra from Paula, all was fantastic. Traveling through this wonderful country for a month has been so good but this was a highlight.

This place is magical! everything detail is very well thought. It is cozy, pristine, comfortable. The decoration is not only beautiful, but very unique. Paula and Luis are amazing hosts and lovely people. I would 100 % go back and recommend without hesitation! ohh! and breakfast is delicious!

Paula was an exceptional host. She was easy to communicate with and greeted us as we arrived. She went above and beyond to be sure that we had what we needed. The whole place is beautifully decorated, the room was very comfortable and the breakfast was delicious.

Lovely host Paula spent a lot of time with us explaining highlights to see in Coimbra. Very well looked after at breakfast and a very generous spread on offer. Very happy with our choice for a 2 night stay in Coimbra - car parking included. Quite an easy walk into old town and the university precinct, as long as you are not in a hurry.

Everything was amazing, from the greeting and description of the area with the information about Coimbra and Portugal. The breakfast was unbelievable. I would recommend you stay here. A very enjoyable experience, I just wish we could have stayed longer.

The place is very cozy and comfortable, with a really beautiful decoration. It’s a 15 min walking from the city centre. The staff are super friendly! They gave us a lot of information about Coimbra and even helped us with restaurant and Fado concert reservations! The breakfast was amazing! I can say It was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had with guest houses. I rightly recommend.

The only drawback was the parking situation. Our rental car was not designed for the steep slope of the driveway by the door of the inn. Luckily, there was parking below, even though you had to back out onto a busy road. However, the hosts very graciously helped stop traffic so we could get out!

The entire inn was charming. The hosts were so helpful and friendly. And the breakfasts were amazing! Great views of the city as well. I would suggest this as a great couples place!

Absolutely nothing - we have no criticism whatsoever.

Breakfast was one of the best we have ever had! The owner (Paula) met us upon arrival and gave us excellent information of the area. The port wine and chocolate was a nice touch. The cake, cookies and fruit she gave us to enjoy in our room were lovely. The gentleman at breakfast was so hospitable and even wrapped some amazing cinnamon cake for me to take when we left. We loved this lodging.

Getting in/out with auto and parking was a bit difficult

It was a little hard to find the place, even with Google Maps.

The location was a 10-15 minute walk to the heart of town, which is ideal for me. The breakfast spread put out by Luiz was amazing. The bed was comfortable, and the place was stately and quiet.

Beautifully appointed. Stylish, quality creative, lovely detailing throughout. Paula’s care and passion was evident in every aspect of our stay — from her warm welcome with port and chocolates and tone of local knowledge shared, to the beautiful room, awesome views form the patio, abundant and delicious breakfast. Don’t miss the extraordinary restaurant just down the street for dinner, Cordel. Sit outside on the balcony and watch the sunset over Coimbra. Our fave evening in Portugal!

Loved that we were personally greeted with a cuppa / glass of port. Our host Paula became our tourist guide and told us all we needed to know to have a thorough explore of beautiful Coimbra. Breakfast each morning was served by Luis. The variety and extent of Portuguese delights was enormous and the coffee excellent! The whole place was exquisitely decorated and we frequently used the outdoor area to eat and relax with its view across to the old town. Highly recommend this beautiful heritage listed BnB.

This was one of the most beautiful and comfortable places we've ever stayed. The design of the place is so lovely, the host incredibly kind, generous, and knowledgeable, the beds and rooms comfortable and soothing, the location central and the breakfast is like no other.

Nothing! Everything was perfect! From the map it looks like it's away from the historic center, but it's actually just 15 minutes walking to the center, which was completely fine by us (we even got spectacular views from the University of Coimbra from our room).

Throughout our stay, we received amazing reception and attention. The attention to detail was impeccable, contributing greatly to our comfort. Moreover, the breakfast offered was truly incredible. Overall, it was a wonderful experience.

Parking can be a little tricky as the space is limited.
