The double bed consisted of two separate mattresses and beds that were put together which wasn't comfy. The fact that we could not use the stove was not really justified as almost all Covid measures don't apply anymore and there weren't many people in the hostel.

We enjoyed our stay a lot. The hostel has a beautiful ocean view and nice artwork. It was a quiet and very clean hostel. We had good communication with Camila.

The only actual down side was the fact that the kitchen was only available to use to heat up food in the microwave or use the toaster and water kettle, which is okay for a short stay but for a longer stay not so much as we thought it was more of a hostel and expected a full working kitchen, but we ended up eating salads, microwaved rice and instant noodles which wasn’t to bad! Not the owners fault. Also the shared bedroom is pretty small and the beds are a bit noisy when going up and down the ladder, and also no curtains around the bed so you can hear and see everyone perfectly.

Arthouse is a very nice b&b, with great staff and only a 5 minute (downhill) walk from the beach. Everything is very clean. The kitchen is big enough, the living room very well decorated and the terrace and front patio are cozy and comfortable.

The place is located in a building, with other 5 apartments. One of the apartments, has weekly parties (Mondays to Sundays) , and on any given days. We tried calling the police, after multiple attempts failed to talk with them directly. The booking place knows about them, and are equally affected. However, this should be noted/ or guests should have a warning before. If you travel overseas, as we did, you want to be able to sleep without having a party going on. The walls are very thin, does not help either.

We liked the price, and the vibe of the guests/hosts of this place. It is a surfing destination, and you do feel this surfer vibe around. It is somehow central and local to downtown, and we walked primarily around to all places/beaches while staying there.

the sue of the stove in the kitchen is not allowed. I am confident a better way can be found to use it and also avoid COVID-19 related risks (ex by enforcing strict mask wearing, and allowing only 1 person cooking at the time). Without a stove and microwave only, one cannot cook which makes the hostel ok only for a short term stay only in my opinion.

Having worked in the hospitality industry a long time, the Manager(owner?) attitude was a little tough to figure out..aloof maybe? Running a hostel which is also where she lives.

Kitchen can’t be used to cook to avoid confusion in the kitchen, even if the place was almost empt.

Nice place next to the center. Quite good value for money. We have been charged 20€ for late check, we had everything packed in our luggage’s in the room but the owner did not have a spare pair of keys… well rules are rules, just some times it would be nice a bit of flexibility when dealing with clients.

I felt that the interaction with the owner of the place was quite hard for me. My space was unrespected from here side, and got me feeling really uncomfertable in some cases. Also important to know that she is living in the same house - whice means there was alot of interactions with her. I hope that behavior will change towards other costumers who

If I could give -points to this place I would. By far the worst stay I’ve ever had, and I’ve been around. The owner was incredibly rude and mean. After we complained to booking because she tried to accused us of being not careful with opening and closing the already broken door that was in our room (and asking the other guests to surveil us whenever we opened and closed the door) she flat out told us that if we were unhappy with her attitude we should just leave. Then she made cross signs over our heads as we left her hostel and called my black friend the “n” word. I could go on and on but I think that’s enough said. I complained to booking and got a full refund.

Friendly people, clean room, bathroom and kitchen. Amazing balcony with a view to the ocean! And cute terrace where you can do morning/evening yoga :) Also It's really quiet at night there.

I usually have the privilege of staying in brand hotels, but this was not possible for my trip to Ericeira owing to the spontaneous visit. I stumbled upon the Arthouse and decided to give it a go. It was a wonderful experience, so much so that I would be happy to return in the future. It has everything one needs, is comfortable and extremely clean! The owner was also wonderful and incredibly helpful. Strongly recommend this property to anyone. Thank you for the lovely stay and experience!

A really nice house, big, comfortable room and a very nice sun deck. Camilla is just great and the breakfast was wonderful. Everything from yoga to surfing lessons were organized for us perfectly.

the Management wasn’t too nice and customer oriented. it was not „allowed“ to use the kitchen to cook a meal and - unlike other hostels - you would not find any common ingredients in the kitchen (I.e. olive oil and vinegar for salad, etc)

It was not like the reviews in terms of being an "art" house that had surfing and yoga lessons or in terms of feeling like a home/ family. You're completely on your own, so it's up to you to get to know others. There is no surfing or yoga inhouse, but it can be arranged for you other places through Arthouse. There are a number of rules, like you cannot use the kitchen to cook and make sure to bring enough cash as nothing can be payed by card/ digital. Otherwise it's a clean and nice place and the girls volunteering there were sweet and friendly.
