United KingdomEverything!! The room was a great size, big comfy bed, good size bathroom, everything you needed in the room and very clean. Every part of the hotel was beautiful, great pool areas and outdoor spaces. The breakfast was wonderful, with everything you needed. The staff were all very attentive. We had the spa to ourselves which was a lovely bonus.

United KingdomLocation is an issue. No shops within walking distance so need to either rely on the hotel for supplies or take transport down to the Marina. The food and drink in the hotel is expensive. The evening buffet meal is 65 euro for adults and 35 for children, so that would have been 165 for our family of 3, so we opted to take Uber down the Marina. Our 4 evening meals at the Marina were 70, 105, 65 and 60 euro for our group and we ate at the best restaurants so well worth the 5 euro for the Uber. We used the complimentary Tuk Tuk a couple of times and chatted to a couple on the trip who said the buffet meal was a shocker, they were half board and spoke of multiple families complaining about the food, so it looked like we chose the right option by not eating in house.
Presentation of the hotel was excellent. Room spacious and facilities good. Pool area really nice and loungers very comfortable. Staff were great, very helpful and pleasant.We had bed and breakfast and the breakfast was good, in keeping with hotels of similar rating in the area.

SlovakiaThe only thing I that was not 100% perfect was a dirty curtain in the room (which was no big deal for us) and coffee at breakfast did not taste very good (tea was excellent).
We had a beautiful room with direct access to the pool from our terrace, it was amazing. To go to the Marina in Vilamoura, we could use complimentary Tuk-Tuk ride which was fun for the kids. The hotel was lovely. We will definitely come back.

United KingdomNothing! It was all excellent! Couldn’t fault anything. The Nespresso coffee machine wasn’t working, and was replaced within 5 minutes of me phoning reception. They really have thought of everything!!!
What’s not to like about The Anantara! Buffet breakfast with excellent choice of fruits, pastries, breads, pancakes, cereals and also hot food. Staff are friendly and extremely attentive. Half Board Buffet Dinner also delicious, with a huge selection to cater to every taste. Several other restaurants to choose from for a supplement. Room is absolutely gorgeous… spacious and furnished to an extremely high level. The attention to detail is amazing. Lovely en-suite bathroom, with a huge bath and a shower with rainfall head and also a hand held shower head. Separate wc with bidet. Walk in wardrobe, dressing room with safe and plenty of shelving, drawers and hanging space. Bathrobes, slippers and toiletries all provided, and replenished daily, plus a powerful hairdryer. Anantara has thought of everything. There is a Spa which we haven’t used as yet, but all the treatments sound fab.

Portugalthe hotel outdoor pools are divided betwen family and adults pool. and all of them are just amazing. my 16-year old that loves to swim, felt that he was too old for the kids pool (and I agreed), but then he was not allowed to enter the two swimming pools in the adults section (we requested to management, that he would go along with me to the adults pool). he complained the entire stay that he wanted to leave.... I loved the hotel, but until he turns 18, I won't be able to fully convince the entire family

United Kingdom It felt as if the hotel was massively understaffed. On most occasions you had to ask for something twice, if not three times or go and get it yourself. we arrived for our check-in at 3 pm, and the room was not ready until 3:30 pm, housekeeping did not tidy our rooms most days, unless we find reception, asking for drinks by the pool took a long time. It is the service which really like this hotel down.
The rooms are very comfortable and a great set up for a family with children, interconnecting rooms with two bathrooms. The facilities were very nice, landscaping, well-kept, towels, available by the pool, free of charge water in the morning, are tasty, breakfast buffet with a little area for children to choose their own bits.

AngolaThe fact that there is no disable (stroller or wheelchair) access to the family swimming pool. Also the biggest issue was the luggage change from the staff, we ended up taking bags which are not ours because the Valet team made a mix with other gests.
The breakfast buffet is amazing!! It is full and has a lot of options, tha is what I liked the most... Also liked the fact of having two different zones of Swimming pools, for families with and without kids.

United KingdomIt wasn’t clear when we booked the property there were two separate pools, the nicer one being the adults pool which I believe used to be the kids pool a few years ago. The WC’s are in awkward places in the hotel, not easily accessible from the pool. The room we were first put in, faced the car park which we didn’t feel was very good value for money considering how much we spent on the room. Fortunately rectified after a few days. The staff when we first arrived were not very welcoming at all and we did not understand all the facilities and restaurants that were located in the hotel as our check-in was very basic and the lady did not want to give us her time to explain it felt.
The hotel is lovely, very well kept and clean. The Kids area is great for families. The staff around the pool were brilliant - attentive, happy and very pleasant. The breakfast and dinner buffet is very good, different every day.
