Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyUnfortunately the shower is awful, the water sprays all over the place and it is either freezing cold or boiling hot. With a little maintenance it would make such a huge difference.
The position and price were amazing, very central and fascinating old building. Great for a short stay.

United KingdomThe room felt a little bit cluttered, I would recommend removing some furniture as I would have thought most stays were for short stints and visitors wouldn’t unpack cases so require room to put them. The room was a bit lacking of natural daylight and would require light to be on most of the time.
A living space in the heart of Porto with several restaurants, bars, shops and cafes within a stone throw away. Beds were comfortable with plenty of sheets and blankets. Host even offered change of towels half way through our stay. Room has nice decoration on the walls and garden is beautiful. Kitchen equipment also included toaster, kettle, coffee maker and fridge. Host also was open throughout our stay to offer advice and spoke great English.

PortugalYes, as many comments say, there is a smell but it didn't bother me much.
Awesome location. Room for myself and the pictures are pretty faithful. Solid, affordable place. I like the old style building. Decent bathroom, shared with 2 other rooms.

United KingdomGood to note the doors are a little stiff, when you put the code in have to really push. I thought it wasn't working. Luckily my Uber driver wouldn't leave me till he saw me inside and he worked it out. Once I got the hang of it though was totally fine. I saw people complaining in reviews it was cold, it was too hot for me because of the great heater! I soon cooled down once I switched it off though.
The apartment was great for the price. Super cheap, but brilliant location, comfortable bed, and all the amenities needed for a short stay. Host communicated really well and check in was straightforward. Would recommend for a basic and budget stay.

AustriaI would have liked a stronger light in my room.
Great location on a quiet , dead end street. A short walk away from Trinidad subway station to get to and from the airport. Coffee shops, restaurants and sights are all just a few minutes walk away. Room number one has definitely character. I enjoyed the hard, solid bed. The bathroom is comfortable and has also some cozy, funky style.

BelgiumWe visited Porto in October and despite the heating, the room was rather cold due to bad insulation as the place is a bit old. The water in the shower was also mostly cold.
The property is situated close to the city center, as well as close to many cafes & restaurants, so perfect if you are coming to Porto for a short time and want to explore the central part. The Sao Bento train station is also within walking distance, which is great for day trips. The beds were comfy and there is a common kitchen area.

PortugalNo power outlet close to bed. The fact I had to go through the kitchen to get to the bathroom was weird. The water in the shower was either scalding hot or ice cold, I couldn't get something in between.
Cheap, clean enough and very close to the center. Overall you get what you pay for.

United KingdomThe room was not very clean. I was shocked to see thick dust under the bed when I dropped my pen and it rolled under the bed
Very good location. It's within walking distance from the metro station. There are a lot of Restaurants and Bars near the hotel. Tourist spots are also within walking distance from the hotel.

I like how the owner communicated with us, even not throw booking, you need to find her on the whatsapp. The room was a little bit small but for me it was very lovely. And also the location was perfect.

SpainIt is a room to pass the night, put your things and shower. Not more, but also not less. It is a huge room. It was clean. The bathroom was clean. A kitchen is available if you want to cook. it is near the historic centre. If you expect more, book an other room. If you are fine with that, this is a good room to stay. the person renting the room was nice.

SpainThe room was a bit humid, mostly when we entered for the first time the smell was quite strong - but this can easily be solved by opening the windows, so not a big deal. Obviously, humidity is not a surprise because Porto is a city that (i) is near the sea and (ii) it rains a lot.
The house is located at the center city , so all the touristic places from here were easily accessible by walking. All the amenities for the room were present. The kitchen was well equipped with utensils and oven so you can cook if u want .. It has a fridge as well. The bathroom was clean and we were given clean towels. The owner kept in touch with us via WhatsApp, in order to ensure that everything is all right (we appreciate it).

PortugalIt's an old place that should have some improvements and get more modern. Can have a better shower and some stuff was damaged like the shower holder and the toilet paper holder. It's nice to keep the old atmosphere but it's much nice to get inside and be surprised for the modern look.
The location was good. The room have a good space/size and it was nice to have the two big beds so we could sleep more confortable. Cosy, cleaned and safe.

HungaryIt is not the problem of the accomodation but to get to the street there are many steps at the beginning of the street and climbing up with heavy baggages is not so pleasent.
The accomodation is close to the metro station Trindade and the prices are friendly that was the main reason of choice.
