How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. It was not clear how to arrive to the building because it doesn't have any directions on the building door
The location. It was the best thing. Really close to all the main attractions.

Drains a bit smelly- but nothing too bad!
Great value for money in a perfect location just outside of Old Town. Shared facilities were good and clean. Is a hostel but you won’t have much interaction with other guests- very quiet, which was great for us!

The property could use a little updating, especially the mattresses which had huge permanent dips in them making them uncomfortable. The shower doors were clear which is a bit odd since there is more than one stall in the bathroom. I was able to lock the shower room (there are two shower rooms and one separate one with toilets) when I showered for better privacy since the hostel wasn’t too full but this might be challenging if there were more people staying at the same time. I am glad I checked out when I did since some guests with a dog were up early in the morning making quite a lot of noise and allowing the dog to run around and bark at other guests.
The location was great and the WiFi worked really well. It was kept very clean. Our room had a balcony which was fun to eat breakfast on. There was clear communication about how to do the self-check in before arriving.

Nothing I can think of. I liked the service for the price I paid.
Clean location, close to old town and a very friendly owner. I enjoyed my stay in this hotel where you get towels, clean sheets and coffee, tea, + cereals were available in the kitchen. It was calm at night and the WiFi was good. Great experience!

The mattresses had quite large dents in them.
It was very convenient to access and the instructions were simple to follow. They also let us store our luggage in the lockers provided after check out which was highly appreciated.

I was shocked at how clean that place was. It was my first time ever to stay at the hostel. Literally 5 mins walk from Old Town. The host itself was super friendly, communication was excellent. They have lockers for luggage and even after we gave the keys back, we were able free of charge, to leave our luggage and still browse a little through Old Town.

Info about the various door codes. Not all of us have Email on the phone! But that was solved after some positive talks with the lovely owner! A humble advice: in adition to Email, use Fb, phone nr. to give guests the codes! TNX
This a gem!!! Not for people that need a 2-3-4-5 Star hotel! But for us travelling a lot this is completely perfect!! One of the best hostals I lived in, spotless clean and a very harmonic "green cat athmosfere". I had a room with a double bed. The location is just perfect....200m from Old Town. Highly recommended for us not wanting Hilton, Sheraton etc. ..BUT the real stuff!!!

I had 2 big issues although i would still stay again as wverything else was great. - There were hairs under the duvet covers on 2 of our beds. - Large mould/humidity stain with the paint coming off the wall in room 7 by the radiator.
The hostel is great, practical, showers are hot and large, good lockers, free cereal/coffee/tea, the beds are comfortable. Great that they have self checkin with a passcode they send so you can arrive whenever you want.

There's a weird smell in the common room, but luckily not in the room we were in. Shared shower was overall clean but some parts smelled a bit bad

One should not expect too much as this is a hostel and not 5 stars hotel. For the standard of normal hostel everything was Ok. The only issue was weak wifi.
The location and environment was perfect and for me it was the key reason to stay at this place. Right next to the Old Town with plenty bars and shops. Just a walking distance from the Railway Station. The hostel is located in an old building with cosy yard. The inner premises seem to be renovated not long ago. Kitchen is available, coffee and tea are provided. Katarzina, the hostess, is always ready to help although virtually via Internet as there is no reception in the hostel. For newcomers getting inside may be a quest but instructions are duly provided on e-mail well beforehand))).
