Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

Our stay at this hotel was excellent. We stayed for one night but could have stayed longer because the conditions are great for the price. The staff is very friendly and they speak English very well. Breakfast is not too extensive, but it's quite enough to start the day. Our room has a view of the street, which is another plus. You get to see the streets of Amsterdam empty first thing in the morning 😊 Everything is really clean and tidy. The bathroom is small but sufficient for the needs of 2 people. The stairs are steep, but that's known in Amsterdam and quite common. For those with a lot of luggage, it might be quite challenging. The location is excellent, you're in the center. Highly recommend this accommodation. We will gladly return to the same place.

United StatesThe stairs were SUPER steep. Luckily we are young and fit but getting our bags up long flights of super-steep stairs without help was pretty dicey. The breakfast is delivered at 8:30 am every day so either you eat then or you miss it. Not a big deal to me but something to be aware of.
Staff was friendly and helpful, room was in beautiful old building with lots of traditional touches, right in the canal district in a fantastic location. If you don't need "fancy" and can handle the stairs then this little gem of a hotel is for you. We went during tulip season so it was actually pretty expensive at the time but I think this hotel at their regular rate is an even better value. The breakfast was surprisingly good with various items like yogurt, juice, fruit, croissant, toast, and more. Water pressure was good and shower got nice and hot. Room furnace worked great as well. Lovely view onto a charming street.

United StatesNot really a complaint per se, but other reviewers had mentioned "the stairs", and yes one needs to think twice if they have knee problems, mobility issues, large heavy luggage, whatever. They are steep and there are a lot of them.
The room, though cozy, was fine. Clean, warm, well lit. The bathroom was even cozier, but adequate. Breakfast was very good. Staff were very nice and accomodating, offering chocolates after climbing the stairs (see below). They were also good about not canceling us when the original credit card I had used to secure the room was cancelled at the last minute due to being hacked. And they let us store some oversized luggage in the office so we wouldn't have to haul it the rest of the way up to our room.

United KingdomI didn't like how they took a big deposit before I got to the property and it took them over 7 days returning the money which left me out of pocket apart from that I couldn't fault the hotel maybe the stairs would be abit steep for older people.

The only issue was the shower and then toilet shared one floor so it was prone to flooding, but it wasn’t a problem. Would definitely recommend especially because of the location! Easily walkable to all of the major attractions!
