Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing.
Beautiful single room with comfortable bed. Lovely view to the front and good location for exploring the old town. Breakfast was great - vegetarian and made from locally sourced products.

United KingdomThe steep narrow stairs took some care, but as they are in the centre of this fine historic building there is no way a lift could be fitted. So take care!
The breakfasts were large and absolutely delicious, all home-made or local produce. The staff were all very friendly and effficient, and carried our suitcases up the steep narrow stairs. The room was spacious and nicely furnished. It was very close to the historic centre of Utrecht, and an easy walk to the station.

United KingdomWe found the staff really friendly and helpful and the location was excellent. It was just a few minutes walk from the station and in a lovely area, on a canal near the Dom Tower. Breakfast was great, with fruit, yoghurt, cake, eggs, coffee etc

United KingdomAlthough I had a double we’d have really struggled for space had there been two of us in the room (there’s no wardrobe, just a few hooks, which was fine for me for a couple of days). It was also very awkward manoeuvring my little suitcase up the narrow, winding stairs, but I did know beforehand that there was no lift, and I only had a small case. Not sure how people manage with suitcases.
The excellent central, canalside location, the comfortable bed and the welcome from the staff (in the soup cafe below owned by the same lady)

CanadaDelightful stay at Petit Beijers. The staff were extremely helpful with storing my luggage and getting my heavy suitcase up the small staircase. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, the shower was great with plenty of hot water. The breakfast was absolutely delicious ! A wonderful stay at an excellent value.

EstoniaIf having only rain shower and no normal shower head, haircap could be provided. Everybody don't want to wash their hair every day. Even tho it didn't bother my sleep, people who are light sleepers may have problems as you can literally hear every word spoken on the busy street In front of the hotel.
Room was very clean and cozy. Staff was friendly and location is absolutely fantastic. I think they have done a great job with this place. Sadly never had a chance to try the soups down In the soup bar as all the tables were always full 😕

NorwayAlthough the breakfast was very good, it is perhaps not environmentally ideal that you get a fixed amount of food. I'm not sure that is the best way of preventing did waste.

One of my favourite hotels I've ever stayed. The location was right in the city centre which was ideal. The staff were so friendly, it was really nice having the restaurant downstairs, it had a really cool laid back vibe. The room was beautifully decorated and the bed was huge and comfy. Couldn't have been better. Highly recommend!

United StatesIf you aren't mobile it could be hard for someone to check into this room. Must navigate through a crowded small space with steep stairs. Wasn't a problem for my family but could be for others.
Great location for walking in Utretch. Loved having access to the wonderful downstairs restaurant. Will definitely stay here next time I'm in town.

United KingdomOn two of the five nights of our stay there was intrusive noise on the street below the window in the small hours of the morning. The other three nights were quiet, we suggested that they fit an internal shutter or similar to exclude these occasional street noises. The owner did reduce our bill for our two disturbed nights. Other than three closely spaced wall hooks there was nowhere to hang or store clothes. We had to leave our clothes in the two suitcases open on the floor for our five night stay.
A well appointed luxury room at the top floor of the property. A very large and comfortable bed. Very friendly and helpful staff. Despite the noises in the small hours on two of our five nights, this is generally a very quiet location, and handy for exploring Utrecht

NetherlandsThe room was pretty cold and hard to get to an acceptable room temperature but knowing these type of buildings and given today's economical and environmental state it may be for the better.
The staff of all young women was extremely friendly and welcoming (thank you Britte). Below their logement is a cute and cozy lunchroom that specializes in amazing soups. In the morning while taking the stairway to exit your way onto the Utrecht canal area you are welcomed by an amazing scent of freshly prepared herbs and spices they use for the soups. The room is comfortable and feels homey right away. You can tell the items in the room, and especially the bathroom, are curated specifically to match the well aged style of the building and the historical area. You're smack dab in the middle of the middle of the centre of Utrecht, right next to the Dom tower, a myriad of bars, restaurants, well known stores and niche boutiques. I am Dutch myself and as someone who knows the cities and its hotels very well, I 100% recommend staying here. Unless you like ugly things, then its not for you.

United KingdomOnly minor criticism would be in relation to the access to the rooms, as this was through the seated eating area, which was a little uncomfortable as the area is limited in space. Issues not specific to this hotel but more indicative of older buildings in the area which are all limited. Owners / operators have made the best of an unfortunate situation.
The welcome was warm and the room was impressive with fantastic elevated views of the bustling street below. Soup-er cafe below the apartment is a fabulous cafe offering local produce with exceptionally friendly and enthusiastic staff. The best tomato soup we’ve ever had! Location is excellent, in the heart of decent shops, cafes/restaurants and bars.

United StatesMy only complaints are that the bathroom was incredibly cold (I traveled during a very cold period) which made using the toilet and shower a bit uncomfortable. Also, I had a room on the 1st floor facing the very busy main street/square so the blinds had to be closed so that people sitting al fresco on at the cafes opposite the hotel could not see me. MInor issues in comparison to the location and service.
This was an incredibly charming boutique hotel attached to a very buzzy coffee shops with great good! The breakfast was phenomenal and the room was incredibly cozy and had everything a solo traveler could need.
