Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Bosnia and HerzegovinaIf visiting Amsterdam, this is the perfect place to stay. The location is great, just a pleasant 20-minute walk to the city center, and there are nice places and restaurants in the neighborhood. The service in the hotel was perfect, with kind and welcoming staff. The entire hotel and the rooms are impeccable. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, very clean and modern, and although we stayed for a short time, it felt like we had taken a longer vacation. The beds are excellent, ensuring a good night's sleep.

Omg they upgraded our room. It was so good! The bed is huge and comfortable. The room is big. And I really wanted to stay in the bathroom for hours, because it’s so big, clean and beautiful. Breakfasts worth the price.

SingaporeI had difficulty finding a pair of slippers, they were hidden together with bathrobes, not sure why they arranged that way. The coffee cup is too small for the coffee machine. My first cup of coffee overflowed onto the counter. The giant pillow was a nuisance.

Lovely top-floor studio with lots of space and private feel. Breakfast was an excellent selection. Thoughtful touches, like noticing and celebrating my birthday (cake and fizz at breakfast) as well as giving us water for our onward journey. Small touches but noticed and appreciated.

Saudi ArabiaThe house keeping service needs to be improved, there are dirts and dusts behind the bed and around. A clear indication of poor thorough cleaning and house keeping. House keeping needs to pay attention to details. Concierge service broke the handle of my carry-on. The hotel could take a better action rather than sending an apology email denying its their fault as per CCTV. customer is always right; we handled the bag in a good condition. They should at least provide any kind of compensation.
The location is perfect, the staff is very friendly and helpful.

South AfricaForm responses to enquiries via Booking dot com platform - a clear "copy & paste" answer for a 5 star establishment is not correct. The reception desk also never gave us updates on our room readiness and if it was not for the amazing concierge (Lotus) we would still be sitting and wondering.
Exceptional service from the concierge, Lotus. She arranged a difficult restaurant reservation and kept us updated to our room readiness. She also then checked up on us when we finally managed to get to our room. The rooms are fabulous, very well appointed and roomy. Everything oozes class here.

United KingdomBoth bar and restaurant are closed on Sundays. I’d picked this hotel for 2 nights on that basis as a solo traveller, so disappointed. Enjoyed a Lidl picnic in my room instead! It’s a little walk to the main area of city, but lots of interest on way.
Beautiful luxurious building and plush room. Spa a nice added extra. Lovely restaurant, with attentive staff, although quite expensive. Breakfast delicious and plentiful, loved the conservatory room.
