Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe rooms were a little noisy, but this is because it is a really old building. You can hear every footstep above you. I did get used to it and guests were generally quiet at night. next time I would request a room on the top floor. Breakfast was very good, but it doesn't change. It's great for stays of a few days; I was there for over a week on business. It would have been nice to have a bit of variety. These are both minor issues. The Wi-Fi was problematic. The speed was good, but it disconnected frequently and required repeated authentication. One room was worse than the other. This is difficult for business travelers. It seemed like it was a problem with the authentication system not the actual Wi-Fi.
I stayed in two rooms, a deluxe and a single. Both were very nice, small but comfortable and clean. Breakfast was very good, with a decent variety. The location was great right in the heart of the city.

SpainActually nothing!
Everything was fantastic. Staff is super nice and attentive. Room was spacious and super clean, and we had a complimentary upgrade to a superior room with a balcony with views to the park. Also, as the stay coincided with my birthday (which we actually didn't tell them!), a lovely surprise was brought to our room :) We'll definitely come back!

AustriaRoom was very small and felt like a store room. My family paid 10 euros more and got a real spacious room so we felt like our room price was not justified. Due to the size amenities were limited - no space for luggage or toiletries.
The location was very central. Parking was available but limited. Variety of breakfast choices. Staff was attentive and helpful.

GermanyFirst I was charged significantly more than the original booking price - they charged me city tax without informing me about it and 50 EUR for I do not know what. Later 50 EUR were returned. We booked 2 similar rooms for same price for me with my husband and my parents. Unfortunately, the rooms are not equally fine. We stayed in room 218 (never agree!), which has only ship's portholes, which do not open. It was a hot day and we had to switch on the aircondition. The room is so small, that you are always under direct cold air wave. This is unacceptable. The other room was bigger and with the nice windows. Also the parking is a nightmare in this part of the city. It is ridiculously expensive and limited in time. The hotel garage is small and shall be booked in advance
Very central location, close to many nice cafes and shops. The Royal Palace is just around the corner. The hotel offers lemony water and tasty apples for guests all day long.

GermanyI was expecting a double bed but I got a single one. High standard hotel but still a bit expensive.
Superbe hotel in the heart of the old town, but rooms are quiet (with a nice view from the roof). The bed room was big. There was a nice TV with a Chromecast. Breakfast was good.

Czech RepublicWhen I was booking on booking I was told that it was including breakfast and parking and none of those 2 were aplicable. Then in the hotel we booked breakfast(they said 8 euros per person) for 32 euros(for 2 of us) and parking for another 30 so it ended up pretty much being double the price. Advice is not to use booking and call hotel directly booking sucks. Or try airbnb I never had a problem there.

TurkeyDuring my check-in there was a confusion about the payment to be done. I think it was about my room upgrade. S total of about 192€ was withdrawn from my credit card together with deposit. When I checked my credit card, I saw that another 80€ is withdrawn from my credit card during reservation. I could not see any explanation. I would like to know about this additional payment.
The Location was perfect. It was in the center and near most of the places I planned to visit.

United KingdomCan be slightly noisy at night ue to the location but that's to be expected in the centre of the city and it wasn't too bad.
The hotel is perfectly located in the centre of the city and near to lots of shops, bars and restaurants. The interior/foyer area is really nice and the room itself was spacious and comfortable. Loved the nice toiletries provided (high quality and plenty of them) and the large flat screen TV. Coffee machine with coffee pods provided plus a small fridge. All in all, would go again and would definitely recommend.

United KingdomOn the second night the room above mine (I was on the 2nd floor) was occupied and I was woken up at 1 am at night and then again first thing in the morning by someone moving in the room above me. Mind you I had my earplugs in, so it should be impossible to hear anything coming from the room above. The noise, mostly stumping around in boots and moving chair on the wooden floor was so disturbing and loud I thought there was someone actually in my room. This continued the following evening where every step sounded like a thunder above my head. It is not clear how in a building seemingly built from solid brick and construction, this is actually possible. Second thing is that there are no instructions on how to use the safe, so not sure if many people actually use it.
Excellent hotel in a convenient location, short walk from Mauritshuis museum in a quiet street, off the high street. My single room was spacious, with a Nespresso machine, kettle, fridge and a deposit box. My bathroom was huge and I liked the fact that it had a bath and variety of really nice shower/body/bath products by Zenology. The room was clean and comfy. I liked the fact that I was able to open the window and turn the heating up or down depending how warm it felt. The reception and seating area of the hotel are very inviting and a great place to sit in the evening. There is a bar next to the reception serving alcoholic/non-alcoholic drinks incl. tea and coffee. My room faced the courtyard so there was no noise coming from the street. I really loved the fact that I could make a proper espresso in the morning in my room.

United KingdomI booked a Classic Double, which did not look like the room in the Booking.com or hotel website. It was tiny, with no proper window (a high level skylight). There was nowhere to put suitcases or to unpack them into wardrobe or drawers. The bathroom was as big as the bedroom. I have previously stayed in this hotel in a 'comfort single' which was tiny, with a narrow single bed - the photo is at least honest on that. We complained about the room, and to their credit the staff tried to find alternatives. These involved steep stairs and no lift. It is worth noting that although there is a lift to the floor level, there are often stairs to change levels within the hotel. Eventually we were moved to a larger room (but still not enough space to unpack suitcases). It was pleasant, much better but should have been available for the price of the Classic Double (I assume it was an upgrade). Surprisingly there was no desk to work at. I realise that conversions of old buildings into modern hotels is very difficult withouth ripping them out and destroying their charm. But i think there needs to be more transparency about the size and convenience of the rooms, and i also think that the prices are too high for what you get.
the location is very good, and the public spaces of the hotel are beautiful.

The hotel is very nicely renovated. It is in the old part of town and very charming. Many restaurants and shops nearby. It is excellent value for money considering the cost of hotel accommodation in The Hague.

BelgiumI arrived around 3.30 pm and still had to wait while my room was getting prepared. Disappointing. I got a classic double room which was on the ground floor in a dark corner. The room was nothing like the pictures on booking.com. The room had no side windows, only one in the ceiling, which still didn't give much light. Very claustrophobic. Ventilation in the bathroom was working without stopping. It was pretty loud at night. The breakfast was good, but not many vegan choices, and too expensive. Next time I would rather go to a cafe nearby. There are plenty of options.
The bed was really comfortable. The room was very clean. The location is good. Sound proofing is good. That is all.
