Rooms were a bit dark during the day due to being on the lower level and the main lights in the room weren’t working.

The area was very convenient, close to the main part of town with access to trams and supermarkets. Rooms were a great size for 2 people, very spacious. The shower was great!

The room was very small. The bed in our room was broken on one side, so we were given a replacement room but this felt smaller and almost like a downgrade. There was no radio in the new room. There is no bar at the hotel.

The location of the hotel is perfect, close to transport links, shops and there’s a great restaurant called Kartel opposite. TV was a good size. Hotel is beautifully decorated.

It was the second time we stayed at Hotel van de Vijsel and we loved it as much as the first time. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The location is ideal, both museums and the old town are nearby. There is a bike rental next to the hotel. Breakfast was very good.

No where on my booking description did it say our suite was actually a loft suite with a scary step set of stars to climb up to our bed. We both have knee injures and it was difficult for us to climb up and down to our bed. I specifically checked to see if there were elevators to our room, there were, but had no idea we had to climb up stairs in our room.

Breakfast and lower lobby was great. Elevators were nicely placed. Great modern yet rustic design of hallways.

room is clean and the decoration is good. but the heater in my room is broken then the staff gave me the small heater. and the room is not soundproof.,which is annoying. i can hear the sound from tram and bus and sound from upstairs, like sound from bath , and every step they made.....annoying.

At night we woke up due to a noise similar to the operation of a pump. This was repeated 3-4 times during the night.

The room was too dark for us, it was a bit difficult to find and tide our things around the room, especially at night.

Excellent location, a few steps from Leidseplein. The bed and pillows were super super comfortable. Shower is also very relaxing. Friendly staff.

Small rooms are extremely small, no space for the luggage or even for 2 people to pass at the same time. You either enter the bathroom or jump to the bed so the other person can pass to the other side. Doesn't seam fair for the price paid. Doesn't have conditioner for the hair. We were unfortunate to have a yelling neighbor that kept us awake for 1h in the middle of the night. Not the hotel's fault, though...

An alarm went off very early the second morning. The receptionist came up but it went on for a long time. She eventually got it to stop. It was nobody's fault but it did wake me up!

Staff very friendly. They put balloons, a bottle of wine and chocolates in the room for my birthday which was a lovely touch.

The lighting in the rooms is minimal. No closet to unpack comfortably.

For such a large facility, it is remarkably quiet, thanks to a smart architecture. Large, cosy bed. Excellent sleeping! Good service at the frontdesk.

The reception and the restaurant after 11pm is closed and they don't allow you to be there, so if your couple wants some time.of privacy in the late night you don't have a place to be. I found out strange and the guy was more or.less telling me that I can't be in the reception for a long time

The location is very centric and pretty close to the tram and the city center so it was easy to move. The room is small but it was enough for a shirt visit and for.both of us it was ok
