The sound insulation in the hotel is not very good and needs improving. Our room had single glazed windows and the construction work one block over sounded as if it was in our room. Similarly, you can hear people in the public corridors because the doors are not sound proofed.

Breakfast was classic European, but very good. We enjoyed the outdoor seating area, which was a little haven after a long day out. The hotel is in an excellent location for site seeing. The staff were wonderful. The open bar / town house policy is also great.

The only thing I would say was that the layout of my bathroom was not optimal - it was a bit tricky manoeuvring the shower screen around to get into the bath. This is minor though.

The staff were fantastic and couldn’t do enough for you. The concept of the hotel is great and gives a very relaxed, family feeling. One night we were tired from a day of museum visiting etc and we ordered food to the hotel - it was lovely to be able to eat in the dining room, with a drink from the bar without fuss or having to be too fancy! Breakfast was great too. I would definitely return and would recommend.

The room was acceptable and it was an expensive time of year in Amsterdam but nearly $500 a night for this hotel seemed excessive.

Great location adjacent to the museum complex in an upscale residential neighborhood. Helpful young staff members. Appreciated the convenience of the breakfast buffet as well as the open bar concept.

the breakfast options are limited, and the rooms are tiny. During check-out, there was a problem with the receptionist misquoting the price of a taxi to the airport. They said it would be 20-30 euros, but it ended up being 55 euros. This miscommunication was unprofessional and should be addressed. Overall, the hotel has its positives, but there are some improvements needed, especially in communication and room size. The room we stayed in should be considered as a "snug" rather than simply small; it didn't really seem to be 17 sqm.

The hotel's location in Amsterdam is fantastic, perfect for any visit. It's safe, upscale, and close to everything. they offer free drinks all day and a cozy reading area.

Loved everything!

It’s immaculately clean, cozy and welcoming. Our medium size room was very spacious and loved the double sinks in the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and the crisp white linens make it very inviting.

Felt like home. Liked the concept of the communal areas, kitchen, bar, lounge, filled with food and drinks for guests' usage at their leisure. Very cosy.

Excellent location in nice and quiet neighbourhood. Fresh and tasty breakfast and daily snacks served in the home-style kitchen. Single rooms are well planned and equipped. Gym area and backyard are a plus.

I absolutely adore this place. Super cosy, in a perfect and quiet location - so close to the city center, ideal for exploring Amsterdam. The vibe of this place is amazing. The room was very comfortable, staff was super friendly and helpful and breakfast was really nice. Common areas where you could unwind and relax with a drink - really nice touch. We had an amazing stay!

Staffs are kind and helpful. Also location was very convenient as well. It's closed to museums and for bus & tram too. And breakfast was included which I really loved sitting in cozy lounge.

Water pressure in shower could have been better. Not keen on the filter coffee sachets, a Nesspresso machine would have been better, although there was one available for free in reception.

Room was very comfortable, bed likewise. Certainly enough room to relax comfortably for a couple. Lovely boutique-style furnishings, and very quiet - didn't hear anything from neighbours.

The bathtub was tricky to step into to take a shower because the side was very high, and nothing to hang onto. The bed comforter barely extended over the edges of the bed; could be a little more generous.

Nice variety for breakfast. Plenty of food, the fruit was fresh, the salmon was excellent.

Our experience of the Jan Luyken Amsterdam from all aspects - staff, helpfulness, cleanliness, facilities, value for money etc etc. - truly exceptional. Absolute gem, the behaviours of the staff, enthusiasm to make your stay as comfortable as possible, provide helpful hints etc. the room, the facilities - all superb.

Staff are extremely friendly, Helpful, and knowledgeable about the Hotel, about travel on Tram and Metro, restaurants, sightseeing, local favorites. Location to Museumplein Tram station is ideal. Afternoon snacks of cheeses and sausages and drinks are welcoming.

We really enjoyed our stay.

The accommodations were excellent. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for exploring the city. The tram is less than 5 minutes away.
