Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyIt would be better if there is a mirror in the room so that U don't have to go to the wash room to see Ur face.since it is located in red district it is bit noisy at night.
This hostel is located just 10minutes walk from the central station.usually the beds in hostels are in verticle but here the beds are on horizonticle.that means only Ur feets will be open to the outside.so that U have the maximum privacy..even the feets side U can cover with the curtain.if U are going bit early U can rent a coin locker until Ur check-in time arrives.the staff is really helpful.thank for the nice stay in Amsterdam.

FinlandIn the female dorm there were metal cages under the beds for belongings. People came in until 2 AM and were rattling the cages. There was also noise from the bar, people on the street and the old church bells were ringing every ½ hours. So it was hard to sleep because of the noise.
Clean and rather modern but noisy. Location was good but the old church bells were noisy. Hostel itself was fine but the problem was the noise at night.

JordanThe staircase is incredibly difficult to navigate. Won’t recommend if you have a lot of luggage. To be fair, this is in central Amsterdam, so this will probably be the case in most places. The staircase was very narrow and spiralling.
Absolutely wonderful, but…

ItalyJust me cherry picking because overall it was very positive, but Room Light needs to be dimmer after 23, also bed curtains less transparent to cover better, getting flashbanged every 5 mins someone enter not great, also not a fan of sensor for the room light, some times I just want to get something from my bag with my phone flashlight not annoy everyone with massive light, also it takes longer to switch off.

AustriaNo room/space at all for anything (eg for opening your luggage, put your toiletries somewhere in the shared bathroom, no hanger for drying your towel, …), 4€ per day to store your luggage in a locker at the hostel, no information in advance to bring a lock (but available for a deposit of 5€), automatic lights in a bedroom of 12, bad lightning in the bunk
Very clean, modern design, good value for money, bunk beds are a good option to travel on a budget and still enjoy some privacy

United KingdomThere were a few noisy occupants in our dorm but nothing the hostel can do about that! We also thought the staircases were narrow and difficult to lug bags up on. The washrooms can also sometimes be on different floors from your dorm.
2-night stay. I've lived in a number of hostels during my Europe trips, and this was definitely one of my best experiences. We were a bit intimidated by the idea of capsule beds, but we ended up appreciating the security and privacy of them (especially since the lower bunks have lockers and every pod has a curtain). There are bigger lockers outside the rooms for top bunks as well. The reception staff also provided towels and padlocks for a small EUR 5 refundable deposit (for each item). The bathrooms were very clean too. We loved the location - walking distance from Dam Square and from the train station. No issues with checking in (we could leave our luggage in a secure locker for a fee) or very early morning checkout (there is someone at the reception 24x7).

United KingdomThe heat in the pods was just about bearable. The noise of people coming in at 1/2 am and having full conversations. There us not much the hostel can do about it but maybe there needs to be signage to keep noise down

Slovakiaa bit of noise coming from the bar downstairs but ear plugs fixed it. the curtain of the capsule isn't opaque enough and since the lights in the rooms are automatic you could be woken up by it if you're sensitive to light.
very helpful staff, clean and great location. towels available for a deposit, lockers were big enough and there were also some that you could use before/after check-in/check-out for some change.

BrazilThere’s no bathroom amenities, such as shampoo or soap in the showers.
It is nicely located, it’s near the main attractions and only 8min away from the central station (directly connected to the airport). The staff is friendly and there’s a Durty Nelly’s pub right next to the hostel. The room is comfortable despite being a bit small for big luggages, and they offer private lockers and towels for free. (you have to give a certain amount of money, which will be later given back on your checkout)
