Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThis was nothing the hotel could’ve helped - in fact we should’ve probably done our own research, but there was a festival right outside of our hotel room all weekend, and since we were placed on the first floor this made it to where we couldn’t really open our curtains much throughout the day because festival goers could look straight in. Therefore if I were to go here again, I’d go on a quieter weekend plus much prefer to be on a higher floor.
We loved the bigger room, the bath and the breakfast buffet. Everything was very neat and luxurious. The staff were very nice and welcoming and the bed is the comfiest we’ve ever laid on. We also ordered room service which came really fast and was very delicious!

MexicoThe price was high, however in Amsterdam hotels are usually expensive.
The friendliness of the staff and their willingness to help. Breakfast offered various options. The quiet surrounding of the hotel, the view from the room. The fast connection with the ferry from the hotel to the central station and the rest of the city. The welcome cookie :)

GermanyFor us the only drawback was that we had requested a twin room for our young adult children, which the hotel could not provide. With the rooms being rather small, this seems to be difficult.
Though they were relatively small, the rooms were nicely and cleverly furnished, comfortable and had a spectacular view. We had a wonderful stay, including the delicious and abundant breakfast. We liked that we could reach the inner city easily by taking the ferry (free of charge). Even in the late evening there were eateries and bars close to the hotel to wind down in.

NetherlandsThe wifi was weak and dropped off consistently in the restauant, which made it difficult to work. The music in the background was a little loud and everywhere, so there were no quiet places to take a call outside of the rooms.
For work at NDSM Amsterdam, the place s perfect. The restaurant menu is concise and the food very tasty there. Big comfy beds, friendly staff and a cookie at check-in.

United StatesThe location was a bit far from everything touristy which was good and bad. The center of the city can be a bit crazy, especially at the start of the weekend but for my first time in Amsterdam, I wish I was a bit closer to all of the sites. The wifi was slow the whole time I was there.
The staff was wonderful and very helpful in offering transportation tips and city recommendations. The room was beautiful and bright with large windows and a modern sleek feel. The breakfast was very delicious and the restaurant was a nice cozy place to eat with great staff.

BelgiumQuite disappointed with a few things. I booked two rooms for a family of 5. Asked to have rooms close when I booked & was reassured that they will do their best. On arrival, we were given a room on the 1st floor and another on the 6th floor. I was told that due to room difference, we could not have 2 rooms close by. This should have been communicated when I asked in the booking - then I could have decided whether to take the rooms or not. After check in, we went up to one of the rooms...which was already occupied!! Then given a room which had no room key so had to ask reception to open the door every time we needed to go in and out.
Rooms were very clean, spacious & comfortable. Nice views
