Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaTakes a moment mute to adapt to the tiny dimensions, at least in my “small double” but the only real issue was trying to hang clothes- the hanger is wider than the closet
Location is excellent and the staff is welcoming and helpful. Lovely little touches like scented water and afternoon pastries

GermanyIf you’re traveling by train you might get some Taxi or just walk 25 minutes. Well, we enjoyed walking all the time in Amsterdam. So it wasn’t that bad for us.
24/7 Coffee ;) and a nice and very friendly staff that could give you advice for discovering Amsterdam and good places to have a dinner. A staff that is available for a checkout at unsual(?) times if you need to get your train very early in the morning. The Linden Hotel is truly some good recommendation.

United Kingdomthe small room is VERY small, i know that that seems expected but it was a bit of a shock as our suitcase took up half the floor space and very minimal space to put away clothes so suitcase did have to stay there as we ended up living out of it. The AC would only blow warm air so since we were on the top floor aswell the room was very hot and difficult to sleep in even with the window open
really lovely hotel with great staff, amazing location within walking distance from a lot of cafes and shops

United StatesIt was fine for us. But would not be if you’re over a certain age due to there being lots of stairs to go up and down. Our room was extremely small but we are not fussy so we made it work
Lovely old building made into a hotel. Staff very nice and friendly. This place is not for seniors! You have to go up stairs that are all of all awkward shapes and sizes, some very steep, with your luggage. Room tiny!! But fine for my son and I.

United KingdomI suppose the smaller rooms would not suit some people but it felt fine for us. It would also probably not be the best for anyone with greater access needs like wheelchairs/scooters. There is a lift, though small, to take you up to the correct level, but that is all the nature of the building being quite slender and tall. Overall we have zero criticism to offer.
The view from the room of the Lijnbaansgracht canal was just beautiful, so peaceful and gives a real flavour of the Amsterdam way of life. The room itself, though smaller than some hotel rooms, is very comfortable, well equipped and with a very nice bathroom and aesthetic. The location was superb with most restaurants, museums, bars and cafes within a 30 minute walk, with the Moods cafe right by the hotel (a great place, we had breakfast there on our last day). The staff were incredibly helpful and courteous, even offering some pastries to us one day and giving us a goody bag of treats as we checked out. This place was simply a delight and is a very strong choice for anyone who would like a really good hotel stay, in a quiet Amsterdam neighbourhood and within easy reach of the cities delights.

TurkeyThe beds were a little bit small (narrow) for adults but possibly due to limited size of the room. The drainage of the shower was outside of the shower which made a little complicated to keep the floor dry after a shower.
Location, friendly staff, lovely treat while leaving. We stayed in 4-bedded room as a family of four. Although it may seem small the room was sufficient for our needs. The benefit/price ratio was quite satisfying.

IrelandThe stairs is narrow and lift is slow. It was perfect for a one night stay but we were on the 4th floor so I can’t imagine going up and down the stairs too often, even though we are both very fit

PortugalThe rooms are, to be honest, tiny, which might be a consideration for those who prefer more spacious accommodations. The staircase is really steep, which can be a bit of a hurdle, especially after a long day of exploring the city. And the elevator was very slow.
I’m extremely satisfied with my stay at the Linden Hotel! The vibe of the hotel felt just like home :) From the check-in till the check-out, the amazing staff always greeted me with genuine smiles and were on hand to assist with any request, making my stay exceptionally comfortable. The hotel offers unlimited free coffee, tea, and delicious hot chocolate, as well as cookies and candies at the lobby 24/7, which was a delightful treat that added to the comfort of the stay. The rooms, though very small, were quiet and well-equipped. The beds were comfortable, ensuring a good night’s sleep. The toiletries were provided. The location was very important for me, since the purpose of my trip was to visit Amsterdam Coffee Festival. The hotel is located right between the venue and the city center, so I didn’t need to use any transport and could walk to any place I needed. The surprise gift of snacks and face masks on the last day was a delightful and unexpected gesture that left a lasting impression.
