Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe water tap in the sink is just ridiculous. 3 tiny streams come out in 3 directions. The shower also didn't have much water. Inner courtyard view is not my favourite, but many hotels in mexico are that way.
Location is fantastic and probably the best in Oaxaca. Staff is friendly, filter water is available.

CanadaWindows faced other rooms so did not open drapes often. Could have Drinking glasses in rooms (pre covid). Replenish water bottles daily
Lovely location, in a quiet and very quaint Barrio. There was often no one at the front desk but you can let yourself in and out by a side door.

The on site manager spoke English and was extremely helpful The building with an inner courtyard and rooftop terrace were so very special. It is situated near many exceptional restaurants and cafes, just 15 minute walk to a large market. Walking is safe and a visual treat

United StatesAs great as the location is, our room gave onto the street and the partying from Dia de los Muertes went on until midnight and the street came back to life by 7 am. It was very noisy. The skylight in our room (right over the beds) gave onto the rooftop terrace and it was extra noisy trying to sleep when people were up there. The wifi was really slow but we were there for vacation and not really to work so it wasn't a big problem.
The location is right in the heart of Jalatlaco. I loved that the hotel is not located on a busy traffic street. The staff were very friendly, helpful and kind. The decor is colorful, welcoming and eclectic and the rooftop seating area was amazing! The beds are hard but we prefer them that way.

United KingdomOur room had a skylight to the terrace which was very bright as soon as the sun rose, several times I thought a light had been turned on. Additionally, sound travels really well in the building and we woke up most days to other guests chatting and moving around in the corridor.
The location was amazing, the welcome desk was lovely. The rooms were good and spacious, the beds were SUBLIME for comfort.

CanadaThe noise on the street starts early, but it really was cultural immersion.
The location was amazing in a beautiful neighbourhood near the historic centre. Miguel, the desk clerk, was incredibly helpful. The street art in the neighbourhood was amazing as was the Day of the Dead decor.

NetherlandsWe had two really noisy nights due to some local customs that the hotel cannot do much about (a 11pm mass with microphones and a birthday with mariachis under our window at 00:00).
The hotel is really charming, very clean and in a lovely area.

This place is all about the location. The staff was very helpful and friendly. If you want to stay in this area and not hang out in your hotel room and watch TV, this is a great place.

United StatesI arrived to Oaxaca at around 6/7pm due to traffic and flight delays. When I arrived, the front desk door was closed and locked and there was no indication of how to get into the hotel. I knocked on the glass door through the metal gate and luckily a sweet older lady had heard me and opened a door a few feet away from the reception entrance. I had informed the hotel of my late check in time prior to arriving, so it would have been nice to have clearer instructions. they also informed me on my third day that they would prefer cash payment, which I could not do. Again, I just wish I had been told earlier so I could prepare. I paid with my card in the end and ended up getting charged twice because their WiFi signal at the reception desk is not great.
This property is in a great location. There are ample shops and restaurants within a few block radius, and walking to the true center of the city takes only ten minutes. The hotel also had a very cute look on the interior with lots of greenery and an authentic Mexican feel. the beds were decent and the fan/AC worked well.

United StatesBecause the building is organized around a courtyard, the sound bounces. Oaxaca is a loud city to begin with, so please don't expect extra quiet nights.
Loved the family who owns the place, the neighborhood is lovely, the housekeeping is outstanding. There's a rooftop with an amazing plant collection where you can hang out.
