The family were AMAZING! They gave us everything we needed- tuk tuk lifts, lovely big breakfast, towels included, friendliness, invitation to a party and even a lift to trincomalee (extra). We couldn’t have loved this place more! Thank you to the whole family (4 generations in one place!)

• super lovely family that runs the place. Always happy to help, arrange tuk tuk/driver when we ask in such a short notice. Very lovely people! • lovely breakfast that gets served in the morning. Had omelette with coconut rotti one morning and coconut pancakes and toast the other morning. Delicious :) • there is a little river that runs just beside their house, you can sit there, put your feet in and have a fish massage :) Highly recommended!

The common area outside our door could be a little noisy, depending on who was staying in the neighbouring rooms at the time.

The awesome hosts, Indika and family, made us feel very welcome for our 2 night stay. We wish we had booked for longer. Our dinner meal was great. It was a buffet style with lots of variety and very tasty. Their beautiful daughter, Oolu, even let my wife borrow her walking shoes for our climbs of the local attractions. The grounds and areas around the homestay are wonderful.

Greate host, he and his family are super friendly and helpfull. He loan us bikes and told us about places to go, organized safari and trip to Anuradhapura. I really enjoyed staying in this place.

I can really recommend this homestay. I found it very idyllic there, so that I prolonged one night. The family is very friendly. The owner drove me and another couple to Pollunaruwa by tuctuc for a very fair price. Also he gave us a ride to Pidurangala. He also offers bicycles if you want to climb Lion Rock in the early morning ( 6 a.m.) If you want to climb an 5 a.m., he drops you there. The breakfast was also delicious. This is such a cute little place. The family was really lovely, the breakfast and the rice curry in the evening were amazing. You can rent bikes and book trips in the place and a lot of restaurants are also close by. I even extended one more night spontaneously, which was gladly possible. I really enjoyed my stay there so much. 😊

The best place I stayed in Sri Lanka - the room was lovely, make sure to ask for one upstairs to get a better view / brightness. I loved that the host went out of his way to suggest to me to join others groups so as to save on taxi fare as I was travelling solo. Dinner is delicious and a lot better value than out in the town. Possible to have laundry done for very cheap. Lastly the host went out of his way to find me a cheaper taxi to the airport than originally quoted - honestly don’t stay anywhere else, you’ll regret not being here!

 There wasn't anything to not like. It is best value for money

We stayed 2 days, 1 day we had breakfast with toast the next it was roti very delicious. Last night we also decided to dine here and we did not regret the decision. Best food we've had in sirigiya. Indika the owner even made sambak especially for me whe he heard i liked spicy food and it didn't disappoint , the sambal as we as the rest of the food was delicious. Indika also helped us get from one olace to another in his tuk tuk free of charge which was amazing, he's such a friendly and generous person. We also decided to go to Polonnaruwa and Indika also took us there for a great quote. Overall we highly recommend this place, they are attentive friendly, funny and fun hosts.

Breakfast was a huge dissppointment. Since many other reviewers mentioned "delicious breakfast" I wonder its quality depends on. Perhaps I was simply unlucky...

The hosts are very welcoming, friendly, helpful. The whole place feels homey and I had a great sleep at night. It is excellent for the price you pay. And you will meet some very interesting people there too!

Door lock tricky but it worked.

Riverside is a peaceful and beautiful place to stay. It's back down a lane from the main road so it's very quiet. Indika and his family made us very welcome. They cooked us lovely rice and curry meals. Indika was very helpful with lots of information on Sri Lankan life. He has a tuktuk with a large boot/trunk so he can take you to your next stop in comfort. He is a safe driver. We were very happy with our final bill. We will stay there again.

The place was clean, but we did find a little dead lizard in the room. It seemed to not have been dead for a long time and we didn’t get the chance to tell Indika about it. It would not put me off coming to this place again!

The host family was very sweet and accommodating. Our curry dinner and breakfast were delicious. Indika and his family are so lovely and arrange everything very easily for you. The home stay was located a bit further out from the ‘main’ area in Sigiriya, but it’s not far and you’re fully surrounded by nature which is amazing.
