Nothing negative to say about the resort! It’s just perfect But if you wanna eat outside or do some exploring of the island, there is nothing close by. Next restaurant is like a 15 min walk and they mainly serve food that has some kind of seafood in it…done with fish balls for a while. But there is a small local scooter hire also a 10-15 min walk up the road, which rents out scooter for a fraction of what the resort’s recommended business charges.

This was the most beautiful resort! It must have been off season as we were almost alone, only few more people coming and going while we stayed 5 nights. So peaceful and quiet. The hut we were staying in was cozy and prepared with little details wherever you look. Yes there’s loads mosquitoes but we were provided repellent and coils. Got some water bottles every morning too. The spa is 10 out of 10, all lady’s showed the same high level of professionalism. Best (3) massages in my life! Thank you so much. The whole resort is so green and close to nature, it’s clean and just the most magical place. The staff cleans up the beach every day too but it won’t kill you to pick up one or two pieces of rubbish yourself if you see it ;) all staff were extremely helpful and nice. They even joined for a yoga session in the resorts own yoga shala - such down to earth people. There is beach beds and a beach bar to enjoy a fresh coconut while sunbathing.

Wonderful old coconut plantation with 500 meter sandy beach facing South China Sea. Comfortable traditional Indonesian pondoks. Excellent local and fresh food. Great staff always available.

Everything about this place was just perfection, it was as expected! We wanted a proper secluded hut experience with the beach right on our doorstep and it’s exactly what we got!! Falling asleep to the sound of the waves was absolute bliss!! Not to mention, the staff were so attentive and lovely throughout!! They even put a bonfire on for us when we requested it! All 4 of us booked in for massages and they were to die for, it really added to the peaceful feel we were looking for! 1000% would stay again and recommend to friends and flying colleagues!!

I was heavily stung by sandflies, and this created a lot of nuisance for the following few days, Hadn’t it been for this it would have been just perfect! I’ll go back, but with a lot of insect repellent!

Very respectful with nature ad staff are very friendly. Also food is great, and the spa is in a great setting and provides top quality massages.

If you are looking to disconnect from Singapore (or anywhere else) and reconnect with Nature, look no further, this is the place. The resort is immersed in the green of the forest facing a beautiful, wild and quiet beach. The birds sing all day. The Spa is on a wild river in the back of the resort and they take you by canoe making it an unforgettable experience. The owner and the staff are very welcoming and socialising becomes as easy as ending the day having dinner and sharing a drink with other guests in front of the bonfire. So just relax, eat, walk and live as you will realise is what you really needed.

The coffee is a good local coffee but not really my taste. Better swap for a fresh coconut or a fresh fruit juice!

The beach is being cleaned well and is beatiful the Spa is wonderful and good value It is super quiet and close to Nature. The service is great, the staff very friendly Perfect for relax and disconnect

The coffee. No place can be perfect, but maybe choose something else to be imperfect with, I need my morning cup and this was barely drinkable. Ended up bringing instant coffee, which worked fine of course.

Literal paradise. Great staff, a beautiful garden where our daughter could run around and play with their lovely dog. Also - maybe a bit unusual to bring up in a review but it says a lot about the place - really nice and interesting guests and dinner conversations. Spa was amazing.

Maybe put a purple light that can diminish mosquitoes. Or check the man made “stagnant waters” around so mosquitoes won’t reproduce. The rest of the insect and animals are fine and expected. Mosquitoes are just too dangerous for the guests health. But overall it is a lovely place

Mutiara resort have everything we been looking for. Quiet, natural environment, beach front with with a beautiful landscape. Perfect place to disconnect and relax. The room was perfect for us, with sea view on the front and river view at the back, we slept so good during our stay. The staff was so kind and always available. The food was good too. And can’t miss the Spa experience on the river!! What a great experience.

Sand flies... but what to do, they are part of nature, just be prepared...

Two beautiful dogs always coming to see me at breakfast and at the beach made the best company ! And, absolutely unbelievable, the books collection at the mini library at the breakfast floor-sitting place: no 5 star hotel in the world would offer the book of Mandelbrot "Fractal Geometry of Nature" and few other gems of true culture and science... a true surprise !

I love this place and I keep coming back. It’s a haven of peace and quiet and beauty in the midst of raw nature. The staff is absolutely wonderful and the massages are the best I ever had. The food is slow-cooked with locally sourced ingredients and just gorgeous! I slept like a baby at Mutiara!

Perhaps a few misunderstandings with the staff (likely lost in translation) when ordering food and booking activities. The beach has lots of hungry sand flies (no fault of the resort’s - just for information, bring lots of mosquito spray).

Fantastic quiet (aside from the fishing boats) eco resort, nothing like the club med versions on the island. We loved it, being in a beautiful little open bungalow steps from the beach, spending our time on the quiet beach. Spa was beautiful and the massage was great and very professional. All contact with the owner was great and very helpful. Food was good and clean. Coconuts were fabulous!

Liked the friendly staff, the gorgeous beach, and the back to basics hut accommodation (traditional style). Quite isolated from busy areas, we had the whole beach to ourselves. The Sat night bonfire was nice too. If you're looking for a peaceful and beautiful place, this is it. If you prefer partying or luxury, look elsewhere. Great value for money, recommend it.

That I had to leave - it was too short a stay and I would love to return.

I woke each morning to hot tea and condensed milk delivered to my room. I was able to then emerge gently into the day, watch the birds, write and then take a few steps and be on the beach for a morning swim. I found a piece of paradise and the whole energetic framework of this place is one of calm and kindness, beauty and retreat.
