Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyBreakfast was not like in The pictures (no juice or fruit, only omelette and coffee). Pool wasn’t really set up, no inviting sunbeds like in the pictures. During the booking it is not clear that the doubleroom is not one of the bungalows in the garden. Room was fine for the price but the pictures more or less only show the bungalows. Was kinda a surprise…
Kind and friendly. All in all I had a nice stay there and booked an awesome snorkeling trip through the host. Pool looked clean and they installed a new carport for shadow during my stay so stuff gets done 👍

United KingdomHot water was a bit hit and miss as it took a while to come through. Sink and toilet were dated. You needed a scooter to get around to the beaches which was not a problem, as Sila arranged this for us. Pump was broken in the pool so we didn’t use during our stay.
Friendly rural homestay, where you lived as part of the family. Great to be so welcomed. Individual bungalows with outside seating. We were there when the family was celebrating Galungan so lovely to see all the decorations and the family in their best clothes. Because of the celebrations we had to stay another day as no taxis were available and luckily Sila was able to arrange this for us and also a taxi for the next day at a great price which was cheaper than Gojek. Sila runs his own diving company Ray Menjangan so easy to book snorkelling and scuba which was fantastic on Menjangan Island better than the Barrier Reef as so many fish and beautiful coral. He also arranged underwater photos for us, so we will have lovely memories. Very reasonable local warung to eat our favourite was at Dapoer Chandra 20min walk or 5min scooter.

AustraliaAir conditioning barely had any strength(maybe too much ventilation in room?), no hot water in shower, being a part of a small village means hearing a lot of animal sounds(rooster calls in early morning, cows, etc.)
Good breakfast, close enough in town for a short trip to the beach and island. Staff extremely friendly and helpful, especially with sourcing us an excellent snorkeling trip to Menjangan Island. Very good value for money.

United KingdomThe staff were so friendly and accommodating. They made us a lovely dinner, which was very reasonable cost and delicious. They got someone in with short notice to do massages for us (small cost of course). The bed was comfortable.

GermanyIf you aren't fond of driving scooters, it' s a bit far to other restos and the beach. But the family will always offer something delicious to eat for you!
The homestay is really lovely! We stayed for three nights after visiting Bromo and Ijen, and it was the perfect place to relax. Sila, the owner, is a super nice guy. He organised us a snorkelling trip to Menjangan Island - a really beautiful place to snorkel - and often hung out with us to chat.

AustraliaI booked this as a birthday present for my friends who then spent a morning on a Menjangan Island snorkeling tour. Sila, the owner was so lovely, always looking after my friends, even catered for them on a 'late arrival'. Thank you Sila, I will be visiting you on my next Bali trip.

GermanyAnyone traveling to Bali should not miss getting to know this extraordinary family. We spent an incredibly intensive and wonderful time with these loving, hospitable and warm people who have such a big heart. We have stayed at quite a few homestays before but nothing is comparable to what we have experienced here: Ari and Sila welcomed us as if we had always been part of their family. Our 3-year-old daughter was also lovingly cared for. We were lucky to be with them during Nyepi, the balinese New Year. So they took us to the Ogoh-Ogoh parade and told us a lot about Balinese culture. Ari showed us how to cook Moringa soup and how to make beautiful offerings. I had the possibility to attend a ceremony at their temple. We went snorkeling with Sila and this was a beautiful experience! We even saw a sea turtel! Another highlight was the wedding in the village, to which the family took us where we could see a traditional trance dance. Everything is actually possible from this homestay: excursion for snorkeling or diving, good food, great massages, making music together, getting to know a lot about Bali and it’s culture, renting a scooter, laughing a lot, relaxing by the pool or even having your mobile phone repaired! It was the best stay we had in Bali and we already miss to be with them.. Don’t miss to make a stop at Menjangan view!

United KingdomThe property is a bit out of the way. We wanted to go to West Bali national park but it would have been better to stay closer to the restaurants etc - about a 20 minute scooter ride away. Pool is smaller than it looks in the photos. Shower water wasn't very warm.
Room was very clean and smelt so fresh when we arrived. Bed is comfy, we loved the cats at the property. The pancakes at breakfast were great.

United KingdomThe pool was closed which is such a shame because we would have stayed somewhere else! I know these things can’t always be helped but wish we had got a message letting us know before arriving. Also to note, dinner was very limited choice, no menus just what they have that day. We were lucky and our food was great but just something to bear in mind. Also the next day we needed a lift down the road, and the taxi organised by the hotel was quite expensive for the journey it was. When we asked the hotel owner if the price was correct we got no response.
Family run, very friendly + helpful. Food was incredible - massive prawns + local cuisine. Lovely way to meet others as well because it’s a smaller place.

RomaniaA lot to improve on the cleaning services. The laundry was dirty, the curtains also. When we arrived, in the bathroom was a very bad smell ( pee smell ) and also found some really big bugs. The breakfast was really basic, I remember I ordered a boiled egg for my daughter and we really received only the egg, nothing else asside on our first breakfast. On the next ones it was a bit better, but really basic.
The hosts were really nice. Helped to book a snorkeling trip to Menjangan island with the meal prepared by them and it was good. Also had massage services on the property by the host sister. The room was spacious. There was a pool, but it was in the shade almost all day.
