Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere was nothing to find fault in this villa. However, we were glad to have a hire car, since the road down to the harbour would have been quite a walk uphill!
A well presented Villa with great views overlooking Agia Effimia. Good facilities with a shower on every level, that’s 3 toilets too! We found the bed to be very comfortable and the whole villa was very clean with plenty of storage. One of the highlights was sitting in the Jacuzzi watching the moon rise over the bay. Denis was the perfect host. Enthusiastically he suggested restaurants and possible excursions, always helpful and always emailed before disturbing us. He even ensured that we had a backgammon board, a special request!

United KingdomWe loved everything!
We loved the area and how central it was to go places. The restaurant across the street was a real treat too! The house was comfortable and loved the fact our two teens had a whole floor to themselves so they felt independent. It was a lovely home and certainly would want to come back!!

Amazing villa, excellent accommodation. The host was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Near the town and easy to walk to but coming home was uphill so had to take a taxi. Car rental would be useful. Lovely Taverna opposite with great food. Would love to stay again

TurkeyThe only downside is that the kitchen utensils were not as clean as the rest of the house. We had to wash everything before we could use them.
They have thought about everything you would need, especially when you stay with a child. Nice swimming pool. The staff were great and very helpful in everything you would need. Close to the city centre.

United KingdomNothing really, we noticed the ensuite shower leaked in the master bedroom but that's it.
Located on a quiet hill side above Efimia, with wonderful views of the small port and ocean. The view from the master bedroom was the most amazing part of our staying at Horizon Villa II, the beautiful landscape and sea views we will cherish. The rooms were all of a decent size and towels were replaced every couple of days. The kitchen was a little on the small side but adequate for preparing breakfast as we ate out everyday. The Taverna across the road wasn't open as it was a little early in the season but if it had would of been great. The pool is small but adequate enough for cooling off and the deck area is clean and comfortable for spending your day in the sun.

United Kingdomnothing, we are planning our next trip 😊
Dionisios is a perfect host- he takes pride in making sure his guests have an enjoyable time and we sure did! Set up in the hill from Agia Effimia we had a perfect view of the sunrise over the sea ( slightly behind a small mountain) and sunset. The village is only 2km down, perfect for a taverna in the evening or a small shop at one of the 3 deli/shops to cook on the outdoor bbq. Easy walk down but would recommend a car if needing to shop. The villa is set over 3 floors and each of our 2 teenagers had a bed and shower to themselves! air conditioning in each room, wifi, private pool and a 2 person hot tub (perfect for that after dinner glass of wine!). The wind picks up late morning, but we never found it to be a problem. Dionisios popped by in the evening to clean the pool and water the plants, and recommended his favourite taverna and beach! Taverna across road wasn’t open while we were there but looks like a great local spot to enjoy the sunset over Myrtos valley. Travelled as a family of 4 (2x large teenagers who said they were really going to miss the villa!)

United KingdomWe are a family of 4 (children aged 8 and 10) coming to the end of our much needed and longed for stay at Horizon Villa 2. It was a last minute booking having been let down on a number of occasions due to COVID so a bit unplanned but we hit the jackpot with our stay. It's exactly what we wanted. Firstly, the villa is situated in a village which is not too busy and not too quiet with good amenities and loads of places to eat. Three little pebbly beaches briliant for skimming and swimming and never crowded. The villa is stood in a lovely garden with lavender, shrubs and other varieties of plants. Due to it's location, it has spectacular views of the sea and mountains from the pool, balconies and hottub which we have used most mornings and early evenings. Each evening at around 6pm we hear the peaceful jangling of the goat bells and the bleating goats coming in for the night in the hills surrounding us. The villa is peaceful and comfortable and has everything you could need and if it's not there, then the owner and his sons are just at the end of the phone and are happy to help if they can with anything you require. The beds are comfy, bathrooms and air conditionig on every floor, villa is clean and fresh towels provided every few days. Even beach towels are supplied, which as a family is really useful, as they take up so much room / weight in your case and are used daily. Smoothy maker, microwave, fridge and tv on every floor (not that we needed the tvs but the kids did use them a couple of nights) much needed washing machine, outside bbq with coals provided which we used a couple of times. There is also a rustic restaurant frequented by locals literally opposite the villa. On one night they even brought over freshly cooked moussaka and local wine to eat on our balcony. It's a 20 minute (timed on my phone) walk to the main harbour down a steep main road but this was not an issue at all for us and we enjoyed the excerise and the views.

United KingdomDionisios, the owner, was very accommodating and met us at the villa to show us around. We had a car to travel to other areas of the island, although we walked into the village each night for dinner at the many great tavernas (10 - 15 minutes). We got a taxi back each evening because walking back is difficult in the dark. 10 euros in a taxi was worth it for us. Spacious villas with 2 kitchens and a lovely pool area and large outside space. If you needed anything at all, Dionisios came straight away. There is a lovely small taverna directly opposite the villa, but it closed the day after we arrived unfortunately.
