How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Room way too small for two people. Bed against the wall so you have to climb over the other person to get out of bed. You have to sit on bed because there is no standing room.

Excellent location for brief overnight stay for work. You have everything you need. Comfortable bed and great towels. Very clean throughout. Bottled water bonus.

I didn't get what I paid for. The entry level room was described as double room (no window) at a specific price. I paid additional for the room described as double room showing a picture that included a window. I was given a room without a window and with it being small I felt a bit claustrophobic.
Location was really great with good access to theatres, restaurants and public transport.

Everyone is so friendly and helpful. We had to leave our bags because we arrived so early and when we came back late that evening our bags had already been taken to our room. I love the way the rooms have made such good use of the space. I'm assumimg that this is why they can charge an affordable price in such good locations and I'm all for it. It's also the first place I've stayed where oat milk is offered with tea and coffee in your room.

The room had a msty smell possible bathroom drains.
Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The suprise of free cheese of wine went down a treat.

Couldn’t seem to get aircon working properly as it was actually hot during our stay in London.

We've previously stayed in Z-Hotel and had access to free cheese and wine but were informed on arrival that this is now only available when booking direct with the hotel company. This wasn't made clear on booking.
Great location close to Covent Garden and theatre district. Rooms compact but met all of our needs and extremely clean with good in room facilities. Fantastic location for Savoy Theatre. Luggage storage available which was useful on check out.

Sadly I got woken both evenings and early mornings by upstairs showering . My room was shockingly small (queen with window) but well thought out for the size). I was very glad I wasn’t sharing. I often travel with girlfriends and this would not have worked. There is only room for one person to physically get dressed/move around as it is effectively a slim corridor about 3m long with a bed at the end. Corridor width maybe 1m? I paid extra for a “window”. Not sure this is worth it. It was just a blanked out panel into a stairwell/liftshaft. Did let in some natural light or could have just been an electric light behind the panel. I had no idea what the weather was outside and ended up too cold so had to come back for a jumper.
Soundproofing was excellent. None of the usual doors banging, people chatting in corridors you can normally hear. Was impressed by the little control panel that even had blind opening/closing on it. (Would have been useful to know this on check in)

Rooms are small so no good for a stay longer than a night or two, but ideal for a short visit.
The location is superb. Short walk to Trafalgar Square, ChinaTown and Theatre land!

Don't love not having a window and the rooms are a little snug however they are maximising space and the location is perfect so not a complaint at all.
Given the location it's great value. Bed comfortable, shower great, really clean, nice staff, good TV channels and soft towels.

Going into this place we knew it was going to be small but it was really small no place to put any cloths or suitcases
Loved the tv and space was very modern it was lovely and clean and really close to public transport.

Great location within easy walking distance from Charing Cross station, Covent Garden and other major attractions. Complimentary wine and cheese was a lovely added bonus!

My husband didn’t like the glass bathroom walls. Very compact room.
