The area outside my window was very dirty. Birds perch there and leave feathers and a mess which is overlooked . I mentioned it needed regular cleaning on leaving. The breakfast was very limited, but the staff were helpful and friendly.

The sea view, well worth paying extra for. Also the swimming pool, so relaxing after a day's walking. It's small but perfectly adequate, although not really suitable for lengths. I used it twice a day, mostly alone.

The staff are always so friendly and helpful. The pool was a lovely bonus. Rooms are well appointed and extremely comfortable. Breakfast was excellent.

Little touches like water in the room and a fridge would have matched for the price. I did ask staff for a mini fridge to keep dog food in, and they kindly set on up !

Possibly too much chemical content in pool as our eyes were stinging quite a bit compared to other pools. Not very much continental choice at breakfast and all a bit empty when we went down for 8.45 I had to ask for quite a few items glasses, crockery, cutlery etc… needed a good replenish of food too.

Spacious room, great amenities, lovely being right on seafront. Brilliant pool for the kids, polite and friendly staff.

Minor really- The indoor swimming pool has a flight of stairs that we had to use and my wife and I have trouble with stairs. There is a lift to the basement floor(-1) but the passageway from the lift to the swimming pool is reserved for 'staff only', clearly because of all the laundry stuff etc.. It would have been good not to have used the stairs!!

The hotel comes under the 'shabby chic' category as it is very old as can be seen by the architecture and old window frames. However it was comfortable and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.

Restaurant: dinner 11.05 potato chips were inedible, soggy. please pay attention to it. Although our veal was excellent, pizza was good

Nice sea view from our room. Breakfast was good, we loved our kippers. Swimming pool is small and lovely, our children enjoyed it.

Breakfast priced in proportionally. My partner had less on plate but we were still charged the same. The phone set wasn't that clean and needed a wipe over. Biggest gripe was I ran a finger over a hanging picture in the room and a lot of dust came down. With the programme "four in a bed" running for decades on TV , this sort of attention detail shouldn't be overseen. Overall would happily stop here again.

Staff were nice. Position excellent to centre. Evening meal brilliant, white wine chilled in ice buckets, a very good touch.Beds comfortable.

Cleanliness was an issue. There was a mouldy mess of a dumped waste bin on our balcony, which was partially cleaned up when we notified reception. The carpets were really dusty.

Excellent location, the dinner was superb, great atmosphere and we got a free room upgrade, which was amazing. Nice linen and towels and aircon.

We stayed in a family room on the first floor overlooking the prom and the sea. Room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was lovely, especially the Sussex sausages!

The hotel could do with a lick of paint and some new fixtures and fittings in places. The shower enclose in my room was pretty ancient. The carpet in the lift was pretty yuk.

Every member of staff I met was helpful and efficient. A problem I had with the tv was resolved immediately. I ate in the restaurant both evenings and the food was excellent and reasonably priced. Lovely comfy bed.
