Stunning place to stay. Clean room. Comfortable bed. An absolutely haven. Wonderful spa. We had dinner there as well which was absolutely delicious.

Being extremely picky the jacuzzi was cool in temperature and some background music in the bar area would have been nice.

The breakfast was excellent. Location was very peaceful. Staff were lovely. Massage was very very good.

,Issues with undercooked main course items, no offer to put right from off hand male waiter, ordinary wine very expensive.

The place is full of interest with a superb outlook, free to explore the isolated location. Very helpful and genial female bar manager.

Georgian restaurant wasn’t open however it didn’t spoil our stay as the bar food was great.

Breakfast was good not to much not to little . The our location was suberb you couldn’t ask for better. Staff were very attentive and pleasant.

I felt that when a function is running it should be clearer where hotel residents should park and how to access their rooms. A blunt 'car park shut' sign could have been more helpful. If there had been a dedicated car park for residents with a good surface over which to wheel a suitcase it would have been better. However I have to say staff were very helpful with carrying my suitcase to my car. The car charging terminal is a type I have found unreliable and although an owner I spoke to got a good charge with their system mine cut out immediately after starting so I went to a more reliable site near York.

This hotel is run to a very high standard and I felt the visit was something very special as I had hoped. Unfortunately they could not serve dinner there due to Covid issues but the pub at the end of the road was excellent. I hope to return when dinner is fully operational as I am sure it would be great.

This was one of the nicest hotels that I’ve stayed in in England. The rooms were spotlessly clean and very comfortable, with glorious views over the Yorkshire countryside. The staff we efficient, pleasant and helpful, and the breakfasts were tasty and interesting. The spa was lovely, with an beautiful swimming pool and a range of excellent treatments. I’d highly recommend Wood Hall for a truly relaxing and enjoyable visit to the area.

If the spa was to be refurbished or extended in future then those south west facing elements should definitely open up to the spectacular views.

Tv didn't work in room, sound went out of intermittently. Told reception who said they'd have a look, but it was still broken on the nighttime. Also spa was pretty basic for the price of the room. Glassware wasn't upto much in the bar!

Excellent staff, nothing was too much trouble. In particular Richard on reception was lovely! Excellent shower and amazing breakfast. Bed was brilliant even though I'm 6ft 7! Brilliant room service options. Very clean in the room and spa. Lovely touches in printed walks and you can borrow wellies.
