Room looked tired and old and the bed was very small.

The hotel is quite dated and could do with a renovation.

I requested an upgrade when the hotel contacted me and asked- I said yes and was willing to pay but got there and was told it wasn’t available- guy on reception looked like he couldn’t care anyway- still not sure if they took the money! Travellers should be aware that if you’re on the road side of the property that’s it’s a dual carriageway and the noise in really loud- you can’t have your window open for air at all and I had to go and buy earplugs!

Lack of tv channels that work. Why do you not have good ceiling lights. It’s not good when you rely on good lighting

The actual room was disappointing being quite small and dated. The bed was comfortable and the shower was good but overall the room was below par and not what i expected from the brand or for the price of £150 for a one night stay. Putting aside the nice public areas I feel that other more budget hotels in the area would offer at least a similar room for less.

The hotel is in a great location for all the amenities of the town and the mainline train station. The hotel has a car park, but it is also located adjacent to the Victoria Way multi-storey car park so parking is no issue at any time. The public areas of the hotel are very nice with a large reception area, nice bar and restaraunt area. The check in service was very good, thanks Martin (I think).

The toilet tissue was of the cheapest quality. There was no extra blanket for the bed, as it was very cold during my stay. The pillows were too soft.snd had seen better days.

Breakfast was of good standard. And displayed beautifully The foyer was very nicely decorated and comfortable.. The staff were very professional , and attentive and also extremely helpful and polite

Beds were small, the elevators were tricky to use (you’d have to use your room key but then the button wouldn’t call for the elevator if you didn’t press and hold), the thermostat was confusing and old fashioned, no exhaust fan in the bathroom so it would get extremely humid after a shower, no mini fridge, the carpets looked dingy, the closets were narrow, and lighting left a lot to be desired.

Not necessary I didn’t like, but towels looked tired, the furniture a bit dated. The staff were nice and helpful, but probably they need more training related to customer services. The uniforms for the staff in restaurant needs to be a bit more smart like for a restaurant environment not a care home.

The head waiter made me feel like a criminal. Told me my name wasn’t on the breakfast list so couldn’t have breakfast until I sorted it with reception. I had paid for it in full . Very poor customer service.
