Breakfast, room and location were great. The view from my room was incredible. It made it hard to leave! The bed was so comfortable. I was able to reach everything I wanted to see on foot. The staff were incredible. They were very helpful in making suggestions that gave me a scenic route to my destinations even though it added more time by foot. They were very proactive, anticipating and recommending things that I did not think about. Take their suggestions! I am a regular traveler and they made my experience even better!

I loved the whole experience, from checking in till I left the place. To start, I would really appreciate Kate who upgraded our studio to an apartment with no charge since we asked for it and we expected some kind of payments for the upgrade but surprisingly she did it with no charge, and the whole staff was really helpful and friendly and they were there for everything we needed.

My only quibble would have been that electrical appliances should ideally be inspected following each guest checking out to ensure they are safe and in good working order for the next guest. Aside from this, our stay was excellent!

My friend and I were very happy with our accommodation, and the staff were friendly, attentive and extremely helpful. Our apartment had a Castle view, as we’d booked, and made our stay feel extra special. We noticed that the kettle in our apartment had been damaged by a previous guest, so we reported this without further delay. A member of staff at Reception replaced the kettle and was very apologetic. The location of the property was spot on and we could not have been happier. Thank you!

I had a room facing the castle. Unfortunately, it was on level 1 (the second floor). Every night there were people on the street talking well into the night. This kept me awake and I had to use noise cancelling headphones to get any sleep.

I liked the location, close to Old Town but around the corner so not directly on a busy street. Continental breakfast was pretty good

Pretty expensive for looking out at a bunch of apartments and you had to pay 16 pounds for the breakfast. Pretty pricey.

It was just down the hill from the castle and short walk to lots of restaurants. It was clean and the kitchen was very nice.

The scrambled eggs were very mushy, no texture, possibly powdered eggs? If you're from the US, the hotels in the UK do not provide wash cloths, so we always bring our own; I don't know how they wash their face and body?

New, clean, modern, nicely decorated hotel in an excellent location. Friendly accommodating staff. Very comfortable large king size bed, adequate size bathroom with small walk-in shower. Very complete buffet breakfast that includes full breakfast options, £16 per person/day. Very convenient parking in a secure the NCP Castle Terrace Carpark, just a few minutes walk from the hotel. Ask the receptionist for a discount card when you check out, £14.50.

The bed . It was uncomfortable and very awkward King size bed jammed up against a cushioned corner headboard which meant accessible only on 2 sides Has to be a nightmare for employees when they make up the bed Certainly it meant the person sleeping on the wall had the lovely sheets full of wrinkles We both ended up with sore backs Street noise can go into early morning No instructions on how to use air conditioner or heating

Mattress was uncomfortable. Very small bathroom and small shower cubicle. Drain smell, toilet had to be flushed twice everytime. Very noisy at back of building from a compressor outside of some sort.

Booked when there was a sale on - it is on the expensive side otherwise.

Perfect location to explore Edinburgh on foot. Beautifully clean, comfortable beds and very well equipped room. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Liked the 'pantry' where you could get nibbles and drinks. Great addition of a coffee machine, too. Could quite happily have stayed for a month as there was everything you could possibly need.
