Reflecting on other reviews of this property, it appears the owner does not respond well to any negative feedback and instead discredits the guest and has made some very broad generalisations of guests based on their nationality, which is disappointing. I think in general, better communication and transparency about the accommodation would be less likely to leave people dissatisfied. For example, I arrived to the hotel an hour or so before check-in and apologised for being early, stating that I was happy to wait in the lounge until check-in. The owner perhaps didn't hear me because he proceeded to show me to a small single room with no bathroom (not what I booked). I was a little confused, as I told him I was happy to wait and would have thought that if I was being downgraded to a smaller room than I also would have been offered a lower rate, but I wasn't. When I went back downstairs to reiterate that I was happy to wait for the room I actually booked to be ready, he seemed agitated with my request. I think better communication and transparency as to what's included in the room/facilities is important. From the booking, I was under the impression that there would be tea/coffee facilities in the room itself but they were actually in a communal area, something I was never told and had to discover myself.

Rooms were cosy and bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was great and had plenty of options.

We had a wonderful stay. Check-in was a breeze with friendly and accommodating staff, and the family room exceeded our expectations, providing plenty of space for our family of five. The room was warm, cozy, and impeccably clean. The grounds and views surrounding the hotel are truly amazing! We would love to be back.

The staff were super friendly and very welcoming. There were different guests spread across all over the stay and everyone was living in perfect harmony which shows how well organised the place is.

No kettle in room ( but free unlimited tea and coffee in canteen). No glasses anywhere - rooms or canteen. DIY breakfast a bit limited.

Beautiful views, really comfortable room. The man who runs it was very welcoming and kindly upgraded our room. Would recommend staying here for a countryside escape that is still relatively close to Glasgow.

I loved the location for this. The view around the hotel did not disappoint and it was a short walk from The West Highland Way. It did not take too long by car to get to Ben Lomond for a good day of walking either. Audrey was around to answer any questions I had and there was a homely feel to the stay especially with the resident pets. You could help yourself to toast, cereal and drinks at breakfast, though the choice was quite limited. I booked the smaller room as I was travelling alone and found it quite cosy. The only thing I felt could have been better was the mattress, it was quite bumpy and I found it slightly uncomfortable. However, I did enjoy my stay and would recommend this hotel to others and would definitely return in the future.

The weather but it didn’t stop us looking around and doing what we had planned.

We chose a continent breakfast which had a choice. Exactly what I expected. The location is amazing. Even when it rains it’s beautiful.
