Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. United KingdomWhilst really wishing this was not the case, as every other aspect of our stay was faultless we have to mention that the outer facing wall of the main bedroom has a creeping damp problem that got gradually worse during our seven night stay. This is heartbreaking because you can see how high the owners standards are and how much work has gone into making the property perfect. This problem may go unnoticed during the height of summer when the weather is much drier but it was prominent during our stay and sadly did smell most unpleasent and result in minor breathing problems.
This property has been renovated to a beautifully modern and high standard making the absolute most of the space and size of the bungalow. The view from the large french doors looking out towards the sea is a joy to wake up to. The decor and furniture are coordinated in a lovely calm shade of grey which stays fresh looking and clean and the pictures have been personalsed to the area in keeping with the name of the bungalow and relevant to where it is situated. Every effort has been made to make the guest feel at home with all aspects of daily life ie washing sleeping cooking all made easy and enjoyable by the care that has gone into all the details. The location is perfect for guests with their own transport. We had no parking issues as it was quiet out of season. Perfect base to explore all North Devon has to offer.

Great information pre-check in. We had one issue with beeping smoke alarm - very quick response to query by owners. Whole house immaculately clean - the provided bedding & towels smelt beautiful. Lovely touches - dishwasher tablets & sponge provided. Heating system flawless - hot water whenever we wanted & rooms heated up quickly after a day out. Really handy to have access to netflix/disney/etc streaming services. Second bedroom contained books - our little girl girl loved this. There was also a high chair available.

Exceptionally clean and tidy. Loads of amenities thought of even down to PS2 consoles, board games and beech balls supplied for families which was a very nice touch. Contact with the host was easy - he responded promptly when I left voicemails

United KingdomUnfortunately it was damp and getting into bed at night you could feel the sheets and duvet were wet. During the day we tried to air the bed but you still felt the damp when you got into bed. There were instructions for everything but none for where the rubbish went so had to use the phone number given to ask.
This property was very modern had everything you needed including a games consul that we used on the colder evenings. The bed was lovely and comfortable and the decor and upto date appliances were fantastic.

United KingdomMain bed was a big small for a six foot man and there is a long walk from the car parking area to the chalet with steps. This is not a problem for fit and able bodied people.
High spec kitchen, bathroom and living room. Recently renovated to a high standard with dishwasher. There was a TV with DVD videos / games. There were lots of guide books and general reading books.
