Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe got emailed an upgrade offer to a studio and in the email it offered us a kitchenette with a microwave which we decided to do so we could feed our young child in the hotel room and get her settled rather than keeping her up to find somewhere to eat. On arrival I confirmed the upgrade we had paid for (extra £30 per night). Our room did not have a microwave or a sink. I went to reception to ask about this and the woman on reception was very dismissive (not Florina) and said we only upgraded to a basic and it did not come with a microwave. When I tried to navigate back to the page the hotel had emailed to show them the offers page just said thanks and all offers wiped. Should have got a screen shot as that was the whole reason we upgraded. When I explained this she said she could give me a bowl and I could use hotel kettle. Not sure how one bowl and a kettle can replace a strong microwave to heat food for a child..... I ended up having to buy baby pouches for my 3 year old that I could heat in hot water using a shallow bowl in bathroom sink.... it also meant we couldn't eat anything we bought so had to order room service two nights as our daughter needed to sleep..... for some reason the curry is only on the menu for room service after 11pm... The lighting in the room is around the edges and is either full on bright or dim and difficult to see which we had to use when our child had gone to bed. There are redevelopment/upgrades taking place to the hotel, unfortunately these were being done in the rooms adjacent to ours so while they were very pleasant builders and fitters it was always a noisy wakeup as they came to get started on the wardrobes of the room next door. For the reasons of you dont get what you actually pay for I would not choose to book this venue again and go back to the Riu which is right next door.
Excellent staff on reception Florina was brilliant with our daughter and did everything she could to make our stay pleasant and was very friendly and welcoming and professional, excellent Nice breakfast selection and minimal.wait in queues for tables and food. Good separate dishes for people like me with severe allergies to stop cross contamination

United KingdomFor what we wanted, there was nothing to dislike.
The location for our Pullman trip from Victoria was ideal. The room was spacious and comfortable. As we were out most of the time, liked the idea of forgoing the servicing of the room in exchange for a gift.

SlovakiaThe only thing that I would mention as a negative, was that the furniture seemed dated and quite worn - it was clean but overall look of the room could have been better.
Everything was really nice, the room was very quiet, tidy and the beds were very comfortable. the location of the hotel was very convenient. the breakfast was really good, tasty and not at all crowded - well managed. overall, I was very satisfied with my stay, if I come back to London, it is very highly possible that I will stay here again.

United KingdomBreakfast was overpriced at £20 - £25 per person dependent on whether you booked it on arrival or at the restaurant in the morning, therefore we went to a local bar for breakfast at half the price of the hotel. The tea and coffee supplies in the room were limited with only 2 sachets of milk in our room on arrival. Housekeeping was slow in providing further milk when requested, (one of the times we never received any more at all). We requested wine glasses which only arrived 3 hours later following a 2nd request. This is why I have scored the hotel at a 7 rather than more especially considering the cost of the stay.
Hotel was in a great location with lots of restaurants and bars in the local area. Hotel was clean & comfortable. We liked the eco option of opting out of the room cleaning for a gift for which we received a bottle of wine.

United StatesWe could not order pizza from the restaurant during dinner time; we had to eat in the lobby in order to have pizza. Not a comfortable place to eat with people coming and going. the Dining Room was very loud ; no sound absorbers so it was unpleasant to eat an expensive dinner because we could not hear each other.
Excellent location, clean and comfortable rooms except that there was a small area in front of the bathroom with wet carpet. Staff was very helpful and prepared a boxed breakfast for us on a day that we had to leave early for a day trip to Liverpool. However, they gave us yogurt with out a spoon and no juice to drink.

IsraelWe arrived around noon and were told our room is not ready yet. However, if we add 20 pounds, the room will miraculously be immediately available (we chose not to but found it a bit devious). We booked a room with two single beds and got a room with one twin bed. We left our luggage at the storage room and when we asked for it the concierge gave us someone else's luggage and asked us to come identify our own suitcase. These are all small things but I expect more from a hotel at this level.
The hotel fitted our needs. The room is spacious and clean. Excellent amenities. The location is good. A practical and safe choice which was exactly what we were looking for.

United KingdomI had requested late check out and I clearly had a do not disturb on as I wanted to do some work. Unfortunately there was a lady who kept knocking on my door asking why I had not checked out and when I was checking out. I just found this annoying and honestly the system should be telling her who had booked a late check out than knocking on my door where I had clearly indicated I didn't want to be disturbed. Worse late check out is a paid service
Breakfast ok but need to be more varied Was a bitt confusing with the set up of cereals as there were two sections in different location The fruits at breakfast were lovely and fresh and the variety of them was also appealing
