Sadly I had to clean the sink drain, there was a lot of hair inside the sink. This was unpleasant, other than that, everything was good.

Mattress wasn’t comfy. Could’ve been cleaner and facilities are more basic than I had imagined.

Great location and access to the gym which is brilliant.

It took a long time to find the security office to collect the key and then quite a while to find the actual block that the room was in. If you have time for this then it wouldn’t be a problem but if you are travelling for work and are tired etc it is very challenging. The room was very basic and quite old/worn. The bed was poor. There was no curtain on one of the windows.

The room was clean. There is a (un equipped) kitchen for shared use It’s the cheapest accommodation in the area

No hot water and no reception, so I did not know how to ask for help, particularly at night. The location was difficult to find with the information given, I had to look for a map of the university online and ask where I was staying when I picked up my keys. It is easy to set off the alarm on the door if you are unfamiliar with the lock, so a few people set this off (myself included). As stated, there is no crockery so it is important to bring mugs, plates etc if you want to cook. You are given a plastic cup, which isn't useful for hot drinks. The shower is more of a wet room, which may bother some people.

En-suite, which is good value for money. I felt very safe among the students and the security desk (where you pick up your keys) was very helpful once I found it. The room is very close to the kitchen facilities, and an oven, fridge, microwave, kettle and recycling bins are available. There are lots of facilities available on campus if required, including frequent buses to the city centre, shops and cafes. Towels and some toiletries are included with the room. Everything was clean and comfortable, and the location was quiet (this was from 8pm-8am). Great wardrobe space.

It would have been nice to have a means to make a cup of coffee/tea beyond the just the kettle in the kitchen. One plastic cup and no utensils rendered the kettle pretty redundant. I also didn't like the reliance on plastic. A nice touch would be to supply a complementary University mug perhaps and some sachets. The cafes closed earlier than I expected so there really wasn't anywhere to get a coffee.

I loved being on campus with all the students. It is also a lovely campus. The room met most of my needs. It was warm and cosy, had excellent wifi, and felt very secure.

The directional signs around campus are difficult to read at night. A torch is advisable. Mattress could have been better; more suitable for children or young lightweight adults.

Quiet on-suite room with a work station. Linen, bedding & towels provided. Very clean. Access to a spotless kitchen that has a kettle, microwave, fridge/freezer, table & chairs and a cooker. Everything else you need to bring, just like a student. Security is great as are the staff; very helpful. Free parking and gym. What’s not to like.

Carrying 3 luggage and walking in the cold for 15-18 minutes is not a good experience. They should have provided a vehicle within campus for external customers like me.

The area is characterized by a considerable amount of tranquillity, facilitating our work without any disruptions.

Firstly, the room was very hot on entering, but was quickly sorted by opening a window and turning off the heating. The bed - it was fine, although the pillows were clearly at the end of their life, being lumpy and uneven. It was all feeling clean until as I left, I noticed a little silverfish going along the floor towards the bed. That put me off. Not the fault of the hotel, but there is literally noting in the evening. The bar was closed early, there are no easy routes into the town centre, and everything on campus is shut. Just for your awareness if you are staying, if you want something to do, stay elsewhere.

The room was as expected. A single bed and an en-suite bathroom. The bed was comfy enough, the room was vacuumed and cleaned. There were fresh towels and shower stuff provided. If you want something cheap and easy it's perfect for one night.

The contact number supplied on Booking.Com is a dead line there is a digit missing. The other number supplied I did call on Saturday and still waiting for a reply. As luck had it I saw a security guard after an hour of trying to find the correct location who pointed me in the right direction. This is not good enough, the Correct number for Assistance is a basic fundamental need.

It’s a huge campus, so lots of walking as you’d expect from a uni campus. It wasn’t the cleanest, not necessarily dirty but cobwebs and stuff in the kitchen/common areas.

For the price - it’s fantastic. Can’t complain.

Not a true negative - but be aware you may have quite a walk from car park to reception/room depending what building you are allocated in.

Basic, but clean and perfect for a quick stopover! Short walk to the Wivenhoe Park Hotel (not part of the accomodation) for great dinner Loads of easy parking Really friendly staff!

Whilst not a problem for me, a checkout time of 9am seems too early compared to usual times of 10 am. The rooms are on a massive (and impressive) University campus just outside of town so you probably need to be driving and you need to follow the instructions carefully to locate the rooms and check in place. Also, with such a big site, there are many car parks, so ensure you use the one they suggest.

A good price for an ensuite room with car parking. Opportunity to walk around campus grounds and lake. Eating places open on campus. Good 2pm till late check in time option. Information provided before the start by the university is comprehensive and phone numbers provided for extra help.
