The main staff on reception wasn't very friendly. Although all the staff in the restaurant and cleaning staff were.

The room, albeit dated. Was spotlessly clean.

The lack of a bedside table, as mentioned earlier.

The room was well appointed, although I would have liked a bedside table, and the bed was comfortable. I enjoyed dinner in the bar and breakfast was excellent.

The staff were rude to me and my partner a couple times at reception or during breakfast service (especially during breakfast service). The food provided in the hotel was sub par and there was a feeling as if the place thought it was a lot nicer than it actually is also I found quite a few hairs and things in drawers the place was cleaned but it wasn't maintained to a high standard

Nice bathroom, great place for a conference where I attended, the vimto fact was cool

Unfortunately my room in this hotel was let down by it's poor mattress quality (mine was grim and I slept badly), very hot room with no air con/ a noisy rattling fan and general shabbiness. On the roadside so opening the window was too noisy. It is generally a tired looking room and there are some dubious stains on the carpet and walls ( the walls need washing by the bed) The armchair has cracked and threadbare areas and pillows are poor quality. The hotel has a general air of tiredness about it. There is no night security...my son came in straight off the street at 1 am and went to his equally tired room, and saw no one around and commented he could have wandered the whole hotel. This was a lower priced hotel for a swift nights stay during a long journey, but for just a few pounds more, there are other much better, more comfortable places very close by. I usually book them, and won't stay at the Pendulum again. It's ok, nothing terrible, but there is much better value locally.

The gentleman on reception was warmly welcoming, very friendly, polite and efficient, swiftly changing my room when it became apparent all the lights in mine had failed on arrival. Breakfast was hot, in abundance and the two breakfast staff again very polite and friendly. The bathroom appears fairly recently revamped and was clean and tidy. Shower was great ..no option to borrow a bath mat which isn't great for someone with MS ( I can be wobbly on a slippy surface).

It would be better if there is a socket next to the bed to charge the phone or watches. And a mini fridge would be helpful too.

The location was ideal for me as I had work at the university and the hotel is very close to it. The hotel was well maintained and very clean. And the breakfast was brilliant.

No AC in the room. We chose a weekend, suprisingly, with a couple of hot days so we really missed an AC but it was also a choice we made ourself. Because of this reason we were also slightly disapointed that the window could only open for like 10cm.

Staff were friendly. Location was still within a 15 minutes walk from the city centre. Breakfast was small but still enough choice to not leave with an empty stomach. We pre-paid breakfast when booking the room and on an early day they even made us breakfast-to-go when we asked the night before!

Didn't like the window of my room was facing to a kind of park. It supposed to be on the 3th floor of the building however the 3th floor was at the same level as the street! There were some people in front of my window shouting at somebody that was on the 4th floor! Didn't feel comfortable, people could see me from outside! On the other hand some members of the staff were fighting during the Breakfast service, it wasn't nice!

It's very close to Manchester Piccadilly Station and City Center.

The room was very small. The furniture was worn and tired . The window was overlooked as it faced other rooms but there was no net at the window so the only way to have privacy was to close the blackout curtains. The upper floor corridors and room were excessively warm. I needed to keep the window open overnight which wasn’t a problem as on the 5th floor. The shower was adequate. There are no sockets by the bed for puffing in a mobile phone for alarm purposes. The conference lunch was either a curry or rather uninspiring fish and dessert was a doughnut. The bar in the evening was manned by one person who was absent for long periods likely because he was trying to do multiple jobs. I asked for a Prosecco which was available in a small bottle and the barman asked me if I wanted a glass! When I opened the bottle (myself as the barman didn’t do it for me ) it exploded its contents all over the table, my kindle and the floor. The barman provided a cloth on request and allowed me to wipe everything myself because he was a serving other customers.

I was attending a training in the hotel so it was very convenient. Breakfast was good. The staff were super friendly and helpful. There was free luggage storage. The bed was comfortable. There was plenty of coffee and biscuits in room. The conference facilities were good including the coffee provisions. The evening meal was reasonably priced

The compact rooms are exactly as it says on the tin, they are small and compact.

The Pendulum Hotel is is ideal hotel for attending events in Manchester as it is located just on the edge of the city. We often stay here when attending concerts in the city. The rooms are equipped with all the necessities and they offer a great breakfast. There is multi story parking just around the corner of the hotel which is about £15.00 overnight and is secured at overnight (with no access until 06.00am).

I think the hotel furniture needs care and attention. The desk area was tatty and tired. There were marks, unsure if it was clean.

Loud drunks at night outside my room. Toilets did not have soft close lids. Other doors did not have soft close so had slamming doors.

Location was great. Room was shabby, but acceptable. Breakfast was good. Reception staff were friendly and helpful.
