It’s an older property, expect to climb the stairs as no room for a lift

Charming building overlooking the bay, good restaurant in the castle and personable staff, almost like being in someone’s personal home.

Breakfast, plenty of self-serve choices, cereals, fruit, yoghurt, toast, conserves, juices, tea, coffee etc., with ‘Full’ breakfast, cooked to order. Scrambled eggs amazing, bacon, delicious. Amazing views across the bay from dining, lounge areas & bedrooms. Good WiFi, throughout the building & outside!

The room was a little bit small, I can't travel light and struggled a bit with all our stuff. You have to bring suitable clothing for all weathers in Wales!

We enjoyed our stay very much. Such a beautiful and interesting building. The food was heaven on a plate. Can honestly say that I have never tasted food like it, many compliments to the chef. I particularly enjoyed the shepherd's pie and the cod mornay, my husband couldn't get enough of the gammon steaks!

The ensuite next door to room 9 encroaches this room with a partition wall and their extractor fan is very noisy. It's triggered by the light switch which means that every single time someone next door even turns their bathroom light on, you have 15 minutes of very loud nose. It's disturbing and not peaceful and needs a silent fan fitting.

    Clean, comfortable, friendly. Great view.

no extractor in toilet /shower room a bit of a tight fit in the shower. moaning woman in the next room complained to staff in the morning about us getting in at midnight and having a shower and no we weren't in it together as it was too small for two .She made sure we heard her moaning at breakfast didn't realise we aren't allowed to go boozing in the town and come back merry on our mini break but some people are very boring.

view and the poached eggs staff very helpful and put my cooler bricks in the freezer for my day out on the cambrian coast railway great to have cold cider.

No light near the bed so had to get up to turn it off and quite dark for reading in bed. Also there was a lot of noise which I couldn't initially trace but think it was the neighbouring room using their bathroom - when the light turned on probably kicking in the extractor - they must have left it on but thankfully it stopped in time for sleep.

Excellent location and view. Room small but had everything I needed. Staff very friendly and welcoming.

Honestly and genuinely, I can’t think of a single thing.

I would literally pay 10 times the price for just an hour on the sea view terrace watching the sunset, what an amazing view! A beautiful hotel with amazing character and such a pleasant experience, I booked this place last minute and I’m so unbelievably glad I did, I’m from wales and I’ve been to Barmouth several times but I’ve never seen it like this! …wow!!

The only funky thing was the bathroom in the room. It had a bifold door and you basically felt like you were taking a wee in the wardrobe. The bed was also very small for two people. Keep in mind that both me and my mum have 180cm beds at home. So if you're used to less it will be fine.

The location is beautiful. we had some trouble parking but that was really our own fault. You can watch the ocean from the breakfast room in the morning and we had an ocean view room also. That was great. We asked for a duvet, which was very confusing for the staff (no one had asked for a second one before I think), and they found us a blanket. We also got to lend two plates for our outside dinner. They were really accommodating towards my mums gluten intolerance and were lovely overall.
