There was what looked like damp on the shower ceiling, but didn't cause us any issues. No one knew how to get the electric car charger to work , luckily it wasn't essential for us, but would have been handy.

Convenient for motorway access , friendly, helpful staff. Decent breakfast and nice rooms.

Information about breakfast not clear. No selection of teas provided either in rooms or at breakfast unlike most hotels of similar standard.

Very friendly staff. On site restaurant with decently priced menu.

Weekend break away, would like to have had breakfast included in one night stay. Felt the breakfast was too much money, so decided to have breakfast elsewhere. Food in restaurant in the evening was good, but again felt it was expensive.

The free upgraded room was brilliant. Nice and clean as well.

There was confetti and part of a sweet wrapper under the futon (I folded it away to make space for the ironing board) and a piece of biscuit or something crumbly under the plug in heater so the cleaner could have made sure to clean under things that guests might move. The rest of the room was spotless so it was a little disappointing and undermined the otherwise high standards. We borrowed an iron and it had stuff burnt on so it set off the fire alarm as it heated up. Thankfully we were the only ones in the family block so nobody had to evacuate but if it had been busier there could have been some upset families. This was rectified quite quickly - someone came to turn the alarm off and they replaced the iron. They even gave us our breakfast for free to compensate so we were happy with the resolution. We sat down to eat dinner near the start of service, around 5:30 or 6 I think. Service was great at the beginning but slowed as they got busier at the bar. Maybe it was busier than usual so they were caught off guard and didn’t have enough staff but they could have done with one or two more as we waited a while for our bill and ended up going to the bar without it to pay - would have been happy to do so to start with if the waiting staff had told us it could take a little while. Even being busy, however, all staff were happy, approachable and helpful.

They have a “family block” which is a separate building slightly apart from the main hotel. This is good because you couldn’t hear any people outside in the smoking area or anyone coming/going when you’re trying get a baby to sleep when most people are just going for dinner. The room was clean and we felt comfortable allowing our baby to crawl on the carpet. They also put out a cot (as we requested) with flat sheets on the mattress of the cot and two knitted blankets. We brought our own bedding to help the baby sleep with familiar scents around but I thought it was a nice touch. The heating had also been put on ahead of our arrival (wall mounted electric heaters - not central heating or an automatic thermostat so someone made a partial effort to warm the room). The bathroom was a good size and had a shower above a bath so if you need to bathe kids you can - a lot of hotels just have showers nowadays so this was nice. We ate dinner at the restaurant and I had a very nice fish and chips and my partner had the mixed grill. He said you could taste the gas from the grill on the meat a bit, but he still almost all of it so it wasn’t bad! They have high chairs with straps in for the baby and very polite waiting staff. This hotel is on the outskirts of my hometown and finding reasonably priced accommodation for visiting family regularly is difficult without compromising on cleanliness or safety. I would happily make Twin Oaks my regular hotel for future visits and am disappointed that I hadn’t tried it sooner.

The bed was like rock. The worst nights sleep ever had in years. My hip still hurts 3 days later. Really really poor mattress. Shame as rest of room was nice. However this would definitely stop us returning.
