Our shower pressure was very feeble and the water never got hot enough . Cheaper daily rate for car could be tempting to re visit

The hotel is a bit tired, for example worn carpets and scuffed walls. The bathroom could have been cleaner.

Breakfast was very good and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was supplied with a kettle, and plenty of tea and coffee as well as biscuits.

The room that we stayed in looked a little tired , And the bathroom was big enough to have had a shower instead of just a bath,which the older person would have difficulty getting into,it was also lacking hooks to hang towels on when exiting The bath. Pigeons on the balcony were a bit of a nuisance too

The breakfast was acceptable. The Sunday roast was superb. The ambiance of the bar was interesting and the exit from the bar into the street was very convenient.

The breakfast was ok, but nothing special, however the staff tried their best to accommodate anything you needed.

The hotel is lovely and clean, with a very spacious room/bathroom, good lifts up to the room and breakfast on the 5th floor.

Sadlythe bedrooms did not live up to the exterior of the property. We were in room one oh one it was very tired. It was very sad that the character of the building had not been maintained well and that the additions were very jarring.

Bed wasn't very comfortable, too hot in breakfast room, wait for the lifts was a bit of a pain.

Staff were brilliant and the building was beautiful. We booked for dinner in the restaurant (The Pickled Sprout) the food was incredible and service was good. Breakfast was tasty and plenty of choice. Good location and beautiful surroundings.

The stairs to access a ground floor room when it wasn’t necessary. The uninspiring staff member on reception

The lady at check in looked, sounded and acted like she just didn’t want to be there. Further to access a room on the ground floor with 4 suitcases, we were sent up a flight of stairs only to need to come down another flight. We later found a shortcut through another door which removed the need to haul suitcases up and down flights of stairs for a ground floor (room 114) room

Paying for parking

Central very comfortable hotel, good breakfast and lovely staff. Bit surprised we had to pay £15 for parking as we were residents, this was the only thing that would put us off going back.

When I pulled out the spare blanket from the wardrobe shelf, there was a dirty pair if underpants behind it. In fairness, many cleaners could have missed this.

My single room at the front was great but bathroom was freezing as it had a large bare window, definitely needs a thermal blind!

Very well located in the town for shops and restaurants, short, level walk from the railway station. Five minutes walk from both theatres. Spotlessly clean and comfortable, friendly staff.
