Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe perfect place to stay whilst we were walking The High Weald Landscape Trail. The large bath with plenty of hot water was very welcome!

United KingdomFood was a little inconsistent, breakfast our second morning was substantially better cooked than our first (although good quality ingredients meant we thoroughly enjoyed both mornings). Our slope-y bathroom was fun, but a slightly grippier flooring would've been appreciated (no shower curtain so we didn't dare use the shower and turn the floor into a literal water slide). Would absolutely stay again though!
The room was comfortable, clean and quirky (very old building, so our bathroom had a dramatic slope in the floor which was pretty fun to slide down in socks). The building itself was very cool, tons of character. The manager and senior staff were excellent - attentive, helpful and charming. Breakfast was generous with a good selection.

United KingdomRoom could have done with a freshen up…paintwork tired and grubby. Bathroom dark and dingy and not pleasant…taps rusty and need replacing, grouting and silicone dirty. Dirty cups in room. It seemed like the stuffing from an old chair in the room had fallen on to carpet (see pic)….we went and spoke with a staff member and asked if it was a sign of a mouse but they said it was always there?….could have hoovered it up maybe!? Not a huge choice at breakfast…just the cooked choice then an offering of 2 cereals and a juice…some toast or pastries would have been nice too.
Lovely old building, large room, great location. Extremely friendly lady who served us breakfast….tastiest omelette/frittata I have ever had.

United KingdomHaving the bathroom/toilet behind a glass partition within the room facing the bed was a poor idea. The room (pinot noir) was on main road and was single glazed so quite noisy., The plumbing sounded like a foghorn each time we turned the water on.. The blind let the light in on the sides so we were woken up early.
liked the old.pub feel and the location. The staff was friendly, the bedroom spacious and the bed was comfortable too

United KingdomIt is quite noisy given the central location but by 11pm it was very comfortable!
Situated in the heart of Tenterden, perfect for exploring the town and visiting Chapel Down vineyard. The team at the Woolpack made us feel incredibly welcome, the bed was very comfortable and the food was excellent.

United KingdomBreakfast very overpriced, £14 each not including coffee/tea. Ordered veggie breakfast, no avocado so was offered spinach in butter. We asked for another sausage instead. We thought half a tomato and half a mushroom was not satisfactory and the hash brown was supposed to be homemade but we're frozen. When we got the bill they had put a £3.60 service charge on! I think £36.60 for 2 small breakfasts and 2 coffees is extortionate. Wouldn't eat there for breakfast again.
Location was great. Room warm and comfy. Tea/coffee making facilities.

United KingdomWhenever you used water a loud noise appeared that gave you quite a shock until you got used to it. I think being an old building it's just a special adaptation that is needed. We'd have preferred the toilet to be a bit more private than a partly frosted glass door but that's just us. It's a quirky but lovely hotel.
The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. Clean room big tv and great products and drinks. We were made to feel very welcome. The restaurant did great food.

United KingdomThe plumbing was rather noisy but perhaps that’s to be expected in such an old property.
The hotel is a beautiful, quirky old building, full of character. My bedroom and ensuite bathroom were large and the bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast on both mornings was delicious. The hotel was centrally situated in the middle of Tenterden, with easy access to a good range of shops.

United KingdomLow door frames into some of the rooms/bathroom and the shower nozzle was abit low for me personally but manageable.
Colleagues and assistant manager were really friendly and welcoming. Food was really good. The room and bathroom were spotless. The local cider was great too. Great value for money and really nice setting. Even though it was above a pub there was hardly any noise. I'd gladly stay here again.

United KingdomNothing.
Although the room was small, the bed was exceptionally comfortable and we were provided with large, fluffy, towels. Bathroom was built into the bedroom with a sliding door and frosted glass, unusual but worked very well and the walk-in shower was excellent, plus there was lots of hot water. Breakfast was good. Staff very helpful and friendly.

United KingdomShower over bath was very low. Lighting in room wasn't great, a bit dark (which is, of course, expected in an old, low ceiling building) and unimaginative/bland. Would be nice to have a of lamp for softer/cosier lighting in the sitting room & perhaps another to light the dark corner by mirror at dressing table?
I booked a room but actually got the apartment on arrival, which was great as it had a little sitting room with tv, so really nice to chill out. Room was lovely, with comfortable bed and good selection of complimentary teas, coffees, chocolate, water & biscuits. Nice toiletries in the bathroom too. Breakfast selection was huge, as was the actual breakfast, which was delicious! Lovely, helpful staff. Tenterden is a lovely town, with plenty of restaurants and bars/pubs and shops to entertain. Would def stay again.
