Some parts of the property showing some wear / could be cleaner. Also there was a nice coffee machine but no pods to use with it which was disappointing.

The Stables is a great location, peaceful setting. Well decorated and plenty of seating in the main living area. Big tv also, and dog bed and bowls provided if you need them.

The bed wasn't too comfy. The camp beds were not suitable for my children, as older and they didn't find them comfortable.

The location was good for us, and the property was very clean and very nicely decorated.

    Nothing!

The property was exactly what we needed to stay in with our young dog. There was ample outside space for her and the property itself is very spacious for a one bedroom stay. Lovely and clean and everything we needed inside.

There were no cooking utensils or anywhere to hang clothes in the bedroom.

Extremely quiet. Very clean, comfortable amd warm. The furnishings were high quality. Wifi was good. We did a couple of short walks from the apartment. We took our dog and they had spare bowls, bed, food and toys along we didnt need these as we took our own.

The lock on the gate to the parking area was a bit fiddly when we arrived, but we arrived in the dark and it was raining which made it harder. But the instructions in the welcome email from the owner were very helpful and had we been in daylight without rain it probably wouldn’t have been so fiddly. But a very minor thing, everything else was perfect.

Everything! It was a beautiful space to relax in, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. It was a home-from-home stay with everything we needed for a well-needed break away. We already want to come back. We loved the little down the road too and enjoyed a couple of nice glasses of wine there on our way home. The owners were very accommodating and helpful which makes such a difference. Highly recommend this property and being able to take my dog was the main thing we loved, my dog loved it too and she had plenty of space.

    Nothing we didn't like

Well equipped property, very comfortable and cosy. Nicely fitted out in a great location for visiting Market Drayton and the surrounding area. The livingroom is spacious, light and bright, very comfortable. Bedroom is a good size with cosy bedding (a second bedside table/lamp would be great for bedtime reading and some hooks to hand up clothes). Bathroom shower had great water pressure. Great parking space and lovely garden area. Seeing the horses on site is a bonus. The Co op was close to hand.

We had anticipated there would be 2 separate beds, based on the description. These are stretchers for small children however. In the end I slept quite well however on the 4 heavy cushions of the couches.

Great location close to a pub

There wasn’t anything we did not like about the property! One thing I would say, is to prebook a table at a pub.

Really lovely place to stay! All the facilities needed were there.

Took a while to find the place as my GPS system placed the address about a mile away on a winding country lane - best to use the Robin Hood Inn next door as location finder. (Booking.com map location was accurate)

Spacious, comfortable, quiet, well-equipped, on-site parking. Excellent/fast communication on Booking.com from the host (though we didn't get to meet her). It was a very warm day and our host had taken the time to open the windows prior to our arrival to cool it a bit (no a/c). Great location for a night's stopover travelling up the M6. Great meal at the Swan with Two Necks a couple of miles away.

Had some trouble finding the cutlery draw (it's hidden within the larger draw to the left of the oven). Watch out for the cat trying to get in through any open windows.

This property was ideal for a couple of nights visiting gardens in the locality. It was small, clean and perfectly adequate: a kitchen / dining / living area, bedroom and bathroom in a newly built out building. Access was private, through a separate gateway with a combination padlock.

The cons of the property are that the mattress in the bedroom is horrible. It felt like a very used cast off from the main house.. extremely soft, and you can feel every spring. My husband and I took turns sleeping on the couch. There were no pillow case protectors over the pillows.. and a hoover would have been useful, although a hand-held brush and pan were provided. There are ornamental items, mainly in the bathroom that are coming away from the wall or not fixed to the wall at all. With small children, this may become a problem. There are also some mould issues in the bathroom as well. The house provides a rule book, somewhat out of date as it makes reference to pubs closed due to covid.. However, said house rules came as a surprise, and an annoyance as none of the requests of the property owners were made transparent anywhere in the policy area on Booking.com. Rules such as you are not able to leave your dog unattended in the property. In our case, we booked the property solely for being dog friendly and close to Alton Towers as it was my daughter's birthday. Obviously, Alton Towers does not allow pets, nor would we take ours, so this put us in a awkward spot..This was never communicated at the time of booking or in the weeks that the booking remained reserved, if I had known that rule before, I would not have chosen the property as this was not idicated anywhere at anytime before payment.. The same goes for the rule of £5 per day charge payable in cash for cleaning services for the animal. Haveing worked in the hotel industry for many years, both front of house and corporate, I have to say that the property requires professional attention in certain areas as it feels more like your sleeping over at a mates house.

The pros to the property are that there is plenty of space for your dog to stretch their legs, it's quiet, quaint, and private.

The shower needs a little TLC - some descaler for the shower head might work. I think some daylight blinds might be a good idea for the big window overlooking the owners house. Don’t want to block out the light with the curtains.

Fantastic facilities with kitchen, dining room and bedroom. Very comfortable sofas and a very quiet and secure location. Laura was fantastic with quick response to any messages.

Bed too small. Couldn’t work out the sofa bed. Plugs in wrong place in bedroom. Bathroom poky. No toaster. Cat kept coming through open window.

Too far from anything. Padlock o gate tricky after a long drive.

Has the potential to be perfect however, cupboards could’ve done with a clean, had to rewash cutlery/cups. For us, soft bed was uncomfortable. Additionally, the fiddly gate and lock situation whenever entering/exiting was an annoying hassle when in a rush.

Elegant and functional kitchen design. Comfortable sofas and dining area. Large living area. Hosts accommodating - asked for an iron which was promptly delivered. Quiet location. Friendly cat 🐈
