We stayed on the 5th floor. The floor boards were quite loud when moving around. Could hear next door and we were paranoid that we were annoying other guests

Run down hotel ,poor quality mattress ,tight 10 car carpark, Room 301 was really small ,I think the bathroom was bigger than the room . Asked for a kitten as I couldn't swing a cat in there .

Room 506 which we’d booked was meant to be a sea view room, but the room was small with two tiny windows so high up you’d need to stand on a chair to see the sea! However the reception staff gave us an alternative room, which although without a sea view was a very good room, so we were happy. Needs an upgrade decor wise.

It’s quite dilapidated in the common areas including the reception, hallways and into the bedrooms. There was a distinct musty smell in the bedroom, telling of furnishings that are perhaps in need of an upgrade. Beds were ok, but the sheets were covered in lint. Lampshades needed replaced urgently.

Very central location, lovely renovated bathrooms in the rooms. Had a good, quiet sleep.

It was a very hot day and I was unable to open a window. They were locked for safety reasons. That would be my only complaint.

Our room was very small.... bathroom was tiny..with no window or ventilation.. our sea view.. we would have hd to stand on chair to see...our bed was very comfortable and had good nights sleep..all but we hd windows open.

Booked a room with sea view. Didn't expect to have to stand on a chair to be able to see it, Bathroom was very narrow and awkward to access. Not able to turn off radiator in bathroom, which was far too hot.

It however you are looking to spend time in the hotel itself, I don't think it's rooms are comfortable enough and the bar arears would not be my choice of 'nice' surrounding, given the choices of even the Wetherspoons on the harbour front. Pick this hotel as a place to crash, not a destination of its own right and it spot on. So if my couple of photos of things wrong in the room bother you look elsewhere - If like me they more amuse you, you'll be fine here.

This hotel is what it is. It's not luxurious, it's not perfectly maintained etc. but it's the cheapest hotel in Oban, it's right round the corner from the harbour, so a great location, with friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast for a cooked buffet is great, and there's a few choices of continental too. If you are just looking for somewhere for a few nights to sleep, wash and eat breakfast, there nothing wrong with this place at all and I'd probably try again here when I return to Oban.

Just odd things, really, a couple of marks on the wall where it's aged. The cold water faucet in the bathroom was loose, wasn't leaking, but just the tap itself was loose and moved when using it. Other than that, it was great.

I really loved the young gentleman's customer service at the front desk. Fantastic, warm, and welcoming, the location is incredible, and the stay was great value, including the breakfast. Bed was really comfortable.

The hotel (although an old building) is looking tired and could do with being upgraded. Flooring is interesting to walk on as it is not all level!!!
