I only stop one night so not having a TV is not a big miss

The Old School is easily located just off the M6 I have used it before as fish locally on the River Lune and this B and B is located in Tebay for my fishing People are really friendly

I have nothing to dislike about the property, it's lovely and unique.

The property is in a lovely location with a short walk to the local pub serving really nice food. Our stay was wonderful and the hosts were super friendly, inviting and made us feel really comfortable. The breakfast was lovely too. The B&B is in a great location for visiting lots of local attractions and the scenery is really pretty.

The beds could have been slightly better quality. I could feel the springs. Also polyester sheets were hot and no fan. For the price though I wasn’t expecting the ritz. Don’t know why a bunch of people left negative reviews.

The property itself is charming. Fun history and lots of character. Beautiful morning spread and appreciated the teapots. The innkeepers are a nice couple. Bathroom is definitely renovated with nice upscale elements. They do get busy so sometimes had to call a couple times or message and wait

Very welcoming hosts. Great value for money. Family room which allowed more than 2 adults. Ideal location for stop-off on way up to Scotland. Close to motorway junction but didn’t feel like it.

    Nothing

Breakfast was freshly cooked and contained the options I selected. This included the provision of hot water for my own supplied herbal tea. Sustainable approach to butter & marmalade instead of small wraps

My noisy fellow guests but that's the luck of the draw with any B&B.

Superb location. Lovely spot to walk the dog easily. Walking distance to a nice pub. Hosts were fantastic. Made me and the dog feel very welcome. I would definitely stay here again.

I found the bed too soft (I like a hard bed) so didn't get a very good night's sleep. I mentioned this and was assured that they would check it out.

Good communication when I contacted them explaining that I would be arriving late. An excellent breakfast and interesting conversations with other guests. The place had a friendly vibe. The owners provided great recommendations for local walks from their door. No need to drive anywhere to get a proper taste of the Westmorland Fells.

The weather was cold and the room cold but I did not check if a portable heater was available or if the radiators would go on.

Staff welcomed me nicely and access was easy and so was parking. The breakfast was home made and a lot better than microwaving things up and shower was excellent.

The Old School is a great B&B for stop-over on a long drive. Clean room, nothing fancy and great breakfast. Cross Keys pub is a 5 minute walk so perfect for an evening meal. Fuel station in the village is great too, part of the Tebay Services family - diesel here a lot cheaper than at the motorway stop.

There was nothing I didn't like!

I received the warmest of welcomes from Steve and Jo, and nothing was too much trouble. The whole place has a wonderful, friendly atmosphere and I felt like one of the family by the end of my 3-day stay. Steve's breakfasts were brilliant. There are plenty of beautiful country pubs with excellent food in the neighbourhood - one a few minutes walk from the Old School, others a few minutes drive away.

Great stay and the 5 man room was ideal for our cycle trip, and a welcome sight after a full day’s ride. Host was great, providing secure bike storage and a cooked breakfast to set you up for the days peddling.
