How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Had dinner in the bar both nights 2nd night husbands pie was cold. They replaced it by which time I had finished my meal. Hairdryer didn’t work

Had a slight issue with our room on the first night which was quickly & efficiently dealt with by the staff and we were upgraded to a new room for our second night.
Good value for money for the price we paid for 2 rooms for 2 nights. The hotel had an offer on when we stayed so you could add your breakfast each morning which was very good value.

The beds, not sure if it was just the standard rooms but the bed was quite hard. We managed to get to sleep but we had a bit of a sore back in the morning but once we got up and walked round that went away. Other then that, the stay was great!
The staff were amazing and great help. The woman (can't remember her name) was helping those that had a disability or elderly to the toilet which was nice to see. The food was very nice aswell, highly recommend the pizza! The entertainment was great and the fact that even the elderly was up and dancing was amazing to see and watch! The room (standard) was a good sized room with everything you need.

The room was a little tired. They've tried to refresh with paint etc but could do with a full refit. Breakfast was a little difficult as I was alone with my dog and they're not allowed in the restaurant which is understandable but then I technically couldn't get to the food! A waitress kindly held my dog while I went in but I felt rushed and just grabbed the nearest thing to eat. Perhaps consider being able to request food at the bar table if you have dogs with you especially if alone with one.
The public areas are lovely. A very traditional looking hotel. I was travelling alone with my dog and we were made very welcome. Great price and good location

Couldn't fault our stay at all.
Have stayed before and as usual; checking-in, room comfort, general appearance and cleanliness, breakfast quality and presentation all very good indeed. Location for us was excellent as we prefer the quieter, smarter side of Scarborough. We were allowed to bring our small dog and she was made most welcome. The staff throughout were polite friendly and helpful.

The direction on the link in booking.com was not accurate, 100m away from the hotel. The dinner in the hotel was terrible

Ideal location for our purposes, Car parking (£6 per night). Friendly staff, very accommodating, especially for friends with dietary requests. Good buffet style breakfasts and good choice evening meals.

The only thing would be the people either in the room above or next door that decided to play loud music at 4am. However this was only for a short while and then is stopped. Whether this was because someone else had complained or they just decided to stop I'm not sure but I am sure that if I had contacted reception they would have sorted it out.
perfect location for us seeing a show just a short walk away. Brekkie was excellent. Staff were all really friendly and helpful. Room was clean, bright and spacious. Parking was excellent. Would defo stay again.

Breakfast staff could have been on hand a bit more but easy to find things yourself.
Lovely and clean, quick check in, parking easy and close by. Breakfast was tasty and enough choice.

Room was fine but the bathroom was a little dated. Not keen on a private company running the car park now, same company tried, unsuccessfully, to fine me for ' over staying' my stay at another hotel, which I had proof of staying at, I certainly recommend you take a receipt from.the machine.
2nd stay at this hotel, easybto locate. In a nice quiet area not too far from town & habdy for events at Olivers Mount. Staff pleasant at all times, check in was easy. Nice spacious room & a comfortable bed 🛌. Quiet through the night. Breakfast was Plentiful & nicely cooked. Check out was easy. Shall stay again.

I am hoping the water in shower can get warm and comfortable, it was very small when I used it to shower.
I like the environment and surroundings in the hotel. I also enjoy the cleanliness of the room. The staffs are all friendly and helpful.
