The only thing if we have to put something - Our room was situated above the dish wash area in the hotel so was a bit noisy late evening but that was really it - nothing else wrong

Friendly and very helpful staff, one lad from the kitchen helped me with my bags up the steep stairs to our room on arrival which was much appreciated. The room was excellent with nice touches and the breakfast was first class. Rob and his team are so professional but still personable.

Breakfast is much too late. We have stayed here twice and have yet to find out about the breakfast. The chef doesn’t turn up until 8.30 am and you cannot order breakfast earlier than that. We were told that if we couldn’t make breakfast that we could order a sandwich lunch instead, but again it couldn’t be ordered until 8.30 in the morning. There was no guarantee that we would receive the food before we needed to leave. The person on reception told us that someone just wanted toast for breakfast and it hadn’t arrived by 9 am when they had to go.

It’s in the middle of the New Forest with easy walks on the doorstep. Lovely evening food and garden.

Room and bathroom are modern and very neat, but no shelf at all in bathroom and none in shower to place shampoo or any other product in shower cabinet. However, an excellent choice for the night.

Service and range at breakfast was excellent, Location was beautiful. Room had been modernised to high standard. We visited the lovely Exbury Gardens then spent the night at the hotel before a cruise leaving Southampton the next day.

Piped music made the experience pretty noisy - especially unnecessary at breakfast.

Good location; very reasonably priced; friendly and helpful staff - just the job for a base for walking in the area. They've invested a lot to make it comfortable. Food is good pub food - and service excellent.

The only reason I took 2 stars off was a creaking door and my bed in a twin bedroom. This bed didn't let me sleep at all.

It is a stunning, well maintained and authentic place located in a beautiful village. Very friendly staff. We actually booked all 4 rooms but they had some problems with pipes and 2 rooms were unavailable. I really like how they solved the problem. We also had dinner and breakfast in this pub and the quality of food was excellent.

Parking was awkward at first as I arrived on a busy Sat afternoon. Once it had quietened down later in the evening, I was able to park next to the pub.

The electric shower struggled to give a plentiful supply of hot water.
