How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

When I had a shower the bath was very slippy, I was very close to going down if I hadn't grabbed hold of the soap tray as the curved base of the bath was very slippy, I really felt the bath should have a none slip mat to prevent a potential serious accident for those wanting a shower.
The room and the bed were excellent. it was attractively furnished, and had everything we needed, clean and comfortable. The tea pots were not hot when we went for breakfast.

On our last visit, we realised that there was no curtain across the clothes hanging area which we have always had before. We would prefer this to be returned as we feel there is no privacy for us in this area.
Our usual room stay is no. 7. We stay very regularly at the Greswolde Arms. We are very happy with the hotel.

The accessible ground floor rooms tend to be a bit dark, but I would rather have a darker room with accessible facilities.
The Greswolde is a better alternative to two other places I have stayed, whilst visiting my mum's care home. It's a nicer atmosphere and has all that's needed in each room. It also has a good and varied menu and a car park.

Stayed for 4 nights..Bed isn't comfortable...had to put pillows at the door to stop the light coming through...definitely not sound proof..breakfast is not good..takes forever continental options limited.....45 minutes for breakfast isn't great..there is a few dishes on evening and breakfast menu with avocado...avoid..its fake avo..didn't know there was such a thing

A fair amount of noise could be heard from the pub below in room 22 but lovely and peaceful once the pub closed. Not excessively intrusive but more than expected. Did not detract from the overall experience though.
Friendly staff, well appointed room and really good food on the Saturday eve and breakfast in the morning.

I was unable to have one of their accessible rooms as they were already booked.
The room had everything that was required and the car park is a welcome and free bonus! The food is good and good value too. Considering my room was above a pub it was remarkably quiet. I could open the window and not have to rely on air con!

Very creaky floor and bed, so felt a little embarrassed when simply turning over ! The hot & cold tap on the sink was opposite to what I’m used to (the hot was on the right) The food in the restaurant wasn’t great We both had steak & Ale Pie with mash and seasonal veg, I had lots of gristle in my pie ( partners was fine) The gravy plopped out of the jug in a lump, turned out to still be FROZEN! how hard is it to boil the kettle and make gravy! As it certainly wasn’t nice enough to have been homemade in a large batch and frozen
The room was very clean The shower was excellent with lots of hot water The bed was comfortable but a bit too firm for our personal taste, extra pillows in the wardrobe if needed :) Large bathroom Complimentary tea & coffee Free Parking if register your registration

Wasn´t happy with so many dogs in the bar Sunday lunch time.
Very cozy, well decorated room with a very comfy bed. Excellent shower and plenty of hot water. Lovely traditional pub with a nice atmosphere.
