Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOnly one bathrobe in room for two of us, did search cupboards and wardrobe, but only one! Would have liked to open the window a bit wider but understand why it is restricted.
Greeted on arrival with a warm welcome and offer of a cold drink. Room 621 was spotless and just what we wanted. Really comfortable bed. Great shower and toiletries for our use. Great breakfast, large choice. All staff we encountered were polite and welcoming. We only stayed for one night but will be back again.

United KingdomNothing negative to add!
One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. I’m a big fan of nice hotels and this ticks all the boxes. The staff are so welcoming. The building is a pleasant mix of Victorian splendour with modern fittings and comfort thanks to the huge restoration. Rooms are fresh, comfortable and elegantly decorated. Bathrooms have great showers and are light and spacious with luxury toiletries and fluffy towels and robes. The bed was very comfortable and there were little touches that made it great such as complimentary chocolate bars, a coffee machine, a big tv that you can chromecast from your phone to watch streaming services, fresh milk, even a yoga mat with a link to yoga classes to follow! It’s a shame there are a few negative reviews about breakfast. Obviously from overly fussy people. Breakfast staff were friendly and attentive. The full English is honestly superb and of great quality. Yes, you have to order and pay for extras such as hash browns but you don’t need to! It’s delicious as it is. And all served in a lovely restaurant with a great relaxed atmosphere. Honestly, the Grand have done a good job here. I will most definitely be back.

JerseyOur room seemed to be at a meeting of the ways with a short flight of stairs immediately outside the room - it wasn’t noisy exactly, but we could definitely hear people thudding up and down the stairs and chatting - mostly in the afternoon as people checked in. My other gripe was the cooked breakfast - they charge you extra for the hash browns - it’s a weird hill to die on, I know, but I’d paid a reasonable amount for the room and added breakfast on - which was the price you’d expect in a good hotel these days and I wasn’t expecting I’d need my card to supplement what was on offer. The cooked breakfast itself was OKish - but not sensational - and they wouldn’t take payment for the gold-plated hash browns at the table, so we had to join the queue of those waited to be seated in order to pay. Just felt rather tacky and contrary to the image they’re trying to project.
It’s stylish and the rooms are beautiful - well proportioned with a great bathroom. The public areas are great also. Isaac’s was a good place to eat - despite a fairly limited menu. As usual with this type of hotel, the real strength is the staff - who are friendly, hardworking and good ambassadors for the hotel.

The Grand is so welcoming. Soon as you enter you are hit by its class. The whole hotel smells divine. It's so serene, calming the staff aren't running around they seem to be so calm and reassuring. When we checked out I had a few shopping bags so the receptionist very kindly placed them all into a beautiful Hotel bag and also offered us a few bottles if water as it was a hot day. Will be returning . Friendly staff, beautiful surrounding and a relaxing stay
