The corridors looked a little tired and the ladies toilets, which need an overhaul, do not match the quality of the bar and restaurant.

Excellent view, good value for money, convenient for ferry, staff very friendly, two very good evening meals, stayed in superior double which was of a good standard, as was the communal bar and restaurant areas.

The bedroom was cold but clean and comfortable. The hotel was dated and worn and needed to be refurbished in the public areas.

The view was awesome and the building had historical features. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

    Not much

It was a great experience and the hotel was very good but it is in need of some work But it did have a certain charm that is not so much available in modern times. A great shame but I do not think that it will last long which would be a great loss

We only stayed one night, it was very enjoyable but were disappointed with dinner. The ettrick restaurant was lovely but in our opinion the food was not up to the standard expected.

The location was excellent and the views stunning, If you are arriving by foot from the ferry enter the hotel by the hill road before the hotel and not up the steps in front of the hotel unless you are fit

Staffing at the bar. Could be time of year but not always easy to get a drink as during day, staff member not always present at bar. Buffet breakfast not the best, acceptable and filling but not all choices hot enough, bacon cooked to death and dry. Must be difficult to get parking space in high season as spaces quickly filled in this less busy time.

Friendly helpful staff. Cleanliness. Location. Ambiance, grand Victorian building, a bit worn in places but kept very clean. Great toaster machine at breakfast. First hotel I've been in where it actually worked properly

Rooms far too hot and no facility to reduce heating. Not advised of breakfast cost on checkin. Names were on list on arrival to dining area. When we were leaving we were given the breakfast bill. Made to feel we were cheating the hotel of the cost as we thought we had booked B&B. It would be more prudent to ask about breakfast, advise if extra cost. This would spare the embarrassment of an otherwise happy customer

    Beautiful setting. Excellent breakfast

We had an evening meal on our first night. Although it was lovely I thought it was a little pricey and perhaps could have been more choice of meals on the menu. I know they haven’t been (re) opened that long so I’m sure things can only improve. Would definitely return there though!

Great location. We didn’t have breakfast because we had other plans in place. Really comfortable stay. The lounge area has fabulous views. Really comfy bed and lovely walk in shower.

A member of housekeeping let themselves into my room before I had checked out, which made me feel a bit uncomfortable and caused me to rush to leave as I was worried it would happen again.

The staff were super friendly and I was able to leave my suitcase in the luggage before I checked in and again when I checked out. It was exceptionally good value for money and the bed was really comfy.

Just a little tired but only in some places. The refurbishment continues discreetly out of season.

Grand Hotel in one of the best and most historic locations on the Clyde. Easy access by train from Glasgow Central Station and the Airport link train via the splendid Wemyss Bay Terminal. Fantastic value for money.
