Not a lot of parking spaces right outside the property.

The property has a beautiful exterior, the views across the bay are amazing. Our favourite part was the balcony with plenty of seating. The room was a double, it was a snug room with a large bathroom. It was warm and clean. The staff were lovely, especially the younger lad at the bar.

Had to ask for toilet roll as almost none in our room but they delivered it promptly and cheerfully when asked. Lots of steps to carry luggage up to get to the hotel which was hard for my mum. Hotel was clearly there before so many people drove so not nearly enough parking and a steep climb unsuitable for some. Nothing they can do about that I daresay but might be as well to warn people they need to be mobile.

Beautiful building, superb food, stunning location and views. Lovely friendly people, pleasant stay.

Hotel needed to be updated. The outside cast iron railings need attention as looks shabby. As does the entrance (via car park). Entrance carpet needs replaced a gives a bad 1st impression. Shower although new couldn’t be controlled as too hot to enjoy. Accident waiting to happen.

The property was good but dated. Needs updating. The shower looked new. New mattress also so bed very comfortable. The gardens are amazing. Staff very helpful

Nice views from room and terrace. Nice efficient staff. Good bar menu.

Finding the road up to the hotel parking area. The map on Booking.com gave the impression the hotel was further away from the centre of Rothesay than we thought & we drove past the road entrance leading up the hill to the hotel.

Lovely decor- especially the carpets & curtains. Nice large twin room with very comfy beds/pillows. Staff were very pleasant & helpful. Side window view of the sea.

I wished the restaurant had had a better choice of food. Being a solo traveller, I didn’t really want a big meal and would have preferred something “lighter” around late afternoon. I also thought the food was a little expensive but that’s my only negative.

The location was perfect and such a beautiful grand old hotel.

    Nothing.

This is a beautiful hotel, in a beautiful location. Yes the hotel is in need of some updating, however we found it was part of it's charm having original features. The food was excellent and the staff were lovely. We had a superior room which was huge, with a view of the front, a huge bathroom, dinner, B & B all for £156 which is very good value for money. We paid £22 additional for our evening meal (you get £25 each towards you're evening meal). I can't fault our stay, it was just perfect.

The room was fine but the bathroom was quite old and tired with light olive bathroom suite and tiles.

The location is great, friendly staff and the restaurant in the evening was good.

No welcome at all from the staff member who checked us in. No chat at all. The same for the staff member who checked us out. Again no conversation didn't ask if we enjoyed our stay. Didn't wish us a safe journey home etc. None of the usual niceties when checking in and out of a hotel? Not a warm arrival or departure.

Like the veranda. Room was OK. Barman was very friendly and chatty. Waiting staff were good.

Dig a little deeper and some places could do with a deeper clean. Otherwise, great.

Room was "period" and on the surface clean. Food was excellent and the chips with my scampi were to die for! The staff went out of their way allowing us to change our travel clothes in a little side room as we'd arrived too early to check in. In fact, all the staff were exceptional.

We could see that in its heyday the Glenburn must have been spectacular but it's looking decidedly shabby now. The paint was peeling badly on the outside of our bedroom door & parts of the wallpaper were nailed to the wall & the nails had gone rusty. The main carpet through from reception & main door was really dirty looking.

Our bed was the comfiest we've ever had in a hotel and the room was a good size. The staff were wonderful & so friendly & helpful. We had dinner in the restaurant one night & have to say the food was spectacular.
