Perfect location! Right at the heart of Kirkcudbright and an easy walk to the river and to the rest of the town. The room was very spacious for a single. It was decorated to a high quality and immaculately clean. Breakfast, from the Full Scottish to the porridge was very generous and delicious. All of the staff I met were friendly and welcoming. The skies in that part of the world are amazing. My room was at the front and I had stunning evening sky views towards the sunset.

Breakfast choice was a bit limited, but then it is low season. Still tasted fab. Would have been nice to have the bed made every day (and the shortbread topped up! ) but that's being picky. Shower door was a bit sticky to open

Great location, in a lovely central street. Room spacious, heating worked well, so cold weather not an issue. The big light in our room stopped working, but they offered us another room. Breakfast was excellent, bar and restaurant also really good. Staff were friendly. Basically, this is a pub with rooms, but it's very comfortable. Other reviews have complained about noise from the bar when they have live music, but we just shut the fire door and it was fine.

Managed the stairs but felt that in advert could have said not suitable if someone couldn’t walk up stairs as no lift

The breakfast was everything we needed and more. Enjoyed eating in at night staff were cheerful and helpful with advise about what was close by for visiting

We mainly chose the hotel for the bar and restaurant facility. We had travelled 300 miles to be told due to an emergency drain problem, these facilities were not available (although problem appeared to be sorted by the time we arrived). No alternative arrangements within the hotel were offered, only a suggestion to use another hotel further down the road, which, having checked out, did not suit our requirements. We then spent the next hour and a half wandering around the town trying to find somewhere to sit down and eat, which proved a non-starter as all were closed. The only options available were takeaway. All very disappointing.

It was pretty chilly in the rooms and the heating wasn't on. The bar can be a bit noisy if you are close to it eg Room 1, but tolerbale and it didn't go on too late.

Breakfast was fine, served by a very friendly, cheerful lady.

I missed the fact that there was no lounge. It was a pub with rooms - I thought it would be more of a hotel.

It was very clean and the staff were very pleasant. Street parking was easy.

Our room was on the top floor and because of the unusually warm weather for the time of year was warm which made sleeping uncomfortable. This is in no way a criticism of the hotel, it was as said unusual weather for September.

Location was central. Staff were very friendly. Facilities were good. Food was very good. The bar was well stocked and had a cosy feel about it.

The bed was very high to get into and very soft,I didn't sleep well as I need a firm mattress.you could also feel the springs so quite uncomfortable. The shower had no pressure and I had to open the door in order to get water on my back,which was a bit awkward. The chair is very low,so when you sit down,you are so low the table is higher than you so it's hard to do anything. I just did my hair as there is no other mirror to dry your hair at as the wardrobe mirror doesn't open enough to see in it properly. It was very noisy with the fans/ extractor on the roof? Started about 7am.

The room was right above reception/entrance to the bar, and was noisy. Moved to a second floor room on the second night with was much quieter.

I arrived later than planned because of an accident on the M6 was surprised at how early they stopped serving food . I think it Needs to be highlighted more A plus was the chef very kindly rustled me up a tasty pizza.
