Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomEverything about the hotel and room was fantastic, couldn't fault it at all. Having access to the pool and other facilities was a real bonus!

United KingdomThe only fault with the room was that out of several options ‘available’ for wifi access - none of them worked anywhere in the room (and we tried!!). We were not bothered re technical devices and were not streaming - but had come away without children and so on top of the fact we had no normal phone signal - the lack of wifi was quite impactful and frustrating.
The property was lovely, easily found via Sat nav. Plenty of parking. Check in was simple. Room was cosy and very warm (it was a hot day) but did have a window that was soon opened! Nice and clean, basic toiletries which were a nice touch. Liked the coffee machine too! The bed was very comfortable. The Spa was a lovely and welcomed treat during our stay, facilities were great and it was quiet. Breakfast the next morning was excellent, hot, fresh and everything cooked to perfection. Service was also good.

United KingdomThe bed was absolutely horrendous to sleep on - not only was the mattress itself incredibly lumpy and genuinely painful to sleep on (we are in our 30s), but the pillows and duvet were lumpy too. The 'spa facilities' are actually the on-site Leisure Centre. It's about a 30-second walk from the bedroom to the 'spa', but it is a public place, the staff there are stingy with the towels, refusing to give us two towels each (when we wanted to use the sauna etc), and to quote paying members of the gym & pool, "something is always broken". During our three day stay, the steam room was out of service for two days, and the hot tub and sauna were out of action on the third day. The temperature of the pool also wildly fluctuated. It is worth emphasising that the leisure centre is a separate entity from the hotel, but I was expecting something a lot more relaxing and spa-quality than what comes across on the Booking.com page, having specifically booked this stay as a spa break.
We stayed in one of the inn rooms (these are separate from the pub bit - there are no rooms within the actual pub/inn) which was large and nicely furnished. Wifi was good, but you do have to switch between different wifi networks as you move from the rooms to the pub to the leisure centre. The walk-in shower in the bedroom was excellent - very powerful, and the room was clean. The food at the Gamekeeer's Inn restaurant was also excellent, and breakfast was also tasty, but disappointing that hot chocolate is not included in the breakfast menu, and you'd have to pay for that separately if you don't want tea, coffee or juices. Staff very friendly and welcoming.

United KingdomNothing really, the temporary issue with water quality was a bit of a pain but free bottles were happily supplied.
The room was lovely, the leisure was ideal for me as I am a swimmer and often find pools too small to get a good session in, this one was great. Finally, the staff, everyone was absolutely delightful, chatty, friendly and helpful, I feel they are definitely your best asset.

RomaniaUnfortunately our room (Geat Coum) had a broken window - couldn’t be opened at all. It was super hot during the night, we woke up several times suffocated so we had to “sleep” with the door open. Extremely uncomfortable, we were exhausted the next morning. Very noisy outside, even during the night.
Location is beautiful, easy to get there. The rooms and overall inn is very clean, the food was delicious and the spa facilities were nice.

United KingdomWe ended up in a hotel room with a wet room, not ideal. TV and Bluetooth system outdated and obsolete in the room. Bed headboard was very squeaky too.
Great base location to explore the Dale's and excellent spa and pool facilities to relax after a day's walking. Breakfast was spot on. 👌

United KingdomThe main thing was the WiFi. It was very weak in my room. Also it would be useful to have a warning about the hot water in the room as it was extremely hot. But the good points by far outweighed these points.
I had a room in the inn. It was nicely decorated, very comfortable and clean. I used the pool which was great and breakfast was very good. All the staff and especially the lady who served me breakfast were lovely.

United KingdomThe information/pictures that we saw prior to arriving to site didn't really give an idea of the scale of the complex - it really is huge and I imagine gets quite busy in peak season.
Swimming pool was a massive bonus, kids went in it every day we were there. Great being close to nature at the edge of the complex, spotted pheasants and squirrels around the chalet. Went to a pub called the Devonshire Arms in Cracoe which was fabulous. Lots of lovely countryside to explore close by.

United KingdomSome of the accommodation facilities were impractical and appear to not have been selected with a user friendly perspective. Some of the restaurant staff were young and appeared to be inexperienced, resulting in a spoilt dinning experience on our second evening. Also, we requested a room refresh on day 2 but nothing was done hence our room was not service throughout our 3 night stay.
Great location, have visited the Gamekeeper before but not as a resident. Very modern accommodation with very good amenities adjacent. A lot of effort has obviously gone into developing the site to provide a complete holiday package.
