Room number one was quite noisy. Traffic noise was loud during the night( but to be fair I live on the coast of mid wales and it is quiet….)

The parking area should be reserved for guests staying not diners. We had to park at the other location around the corner and drag our case and bags back to the hotel. My husband needed two trips for this . After driving 3 and half hours we didn’t need this. Diners should be sent to the other location as they don’t have luggage.

Car parking great but was a little difficult to negotiate when busy. Hot tap in bathroom turned the wrong was so we got sprayed every time we turned it on/off!

We stayed in room 22 at the lawns. The bathroom needed shelving to put toiletries on. The bedroom also needs space to put makeup and other bits on. Theses are small issues.

Food was very good both at breakfast and for dinner. Staff were helpful and friendly. The room was clean, tidy and the bed very comfortable.

Breakfast was amazing, plenty of choice. Plenty of lounge and bar space. We needed to work in the day and the staff were very happy for us to take a corner of any area to sit and work.

One of our party was disappointed with a main meal he had. Not that it horrible just that the description didn't match the meal given.

The rooms are lovely. Big and clean with walk in showers. The staff are all fabulous and very attentive. Amanda was a star. The breakfast was gorgeous and lots of it. We ate at the restaurant which was also good although a little pricey.

It was disappointing that we were not told the amount of the extra charge for dogs until the day before, just after the free cancellation time. Would have appreciated knowing this earlier.

There was a problem with my accommodation. We were allocated a family room when I booked which was all that was available as it was a busy weekend. It said on the details on the website that family rooms have all the benefits of a best room. which it didn't. We were given a room with a very small double bed which I would never have booked as we cant sleep in such a small bed. I had to sleep in the bunk bed. We were moved on the third night of our booking to a bigger room and given a complimentary dinner and wine. The manager and staff were very helpful and apologetic about this and handled it very well. However this needs to be addressed on the website. Paying £200 a night for a small room with a tiny bed is not OK!

Both the pub and the dining facilities are great. The staff are amazing - so friendly and helpful in every way from housekeeping to reception to bar staff and waiting staff. It is a very dog friendly place - my Labrador had the best time!

We stayed in room 18 at The Lawns. Although the conservatory was a nice addition, there are no opening windows. The doors had to be shut when we were out or asleep. Consequently, the room was very stuffy and hot.

Staff were very professional and friendly, the hotel and room was nicely decorated and clean, good choice of food for breakfast, I particularly enjoyed the fresh fruit salad.

The car park was a little small and thus difficult to deal with, what with all the large cars parked in there. The coffee at breakfast was not full strength. No fault of the property, but the weather was very hot and the room was a little stifling when we got back in the evening, but there was a fan in the room which was effective.

The location was great, the room comfortable and the breakfast was tasty. The staff were friendly.

For a three day break walking, visiting gardens and time on the beach there was nothing to complain about!

Breakfast is so important as it is the last memory of any stay, and if you get this wrong it changes the overall perception. In this case the breakfasts were perfect for the occasion. I was impressed by your ‘new’ Willow Rooms - nice to be able to amble up the street to the peace and quiet of the house with its assorted bedrooms, where there is communal space inside and out. Bedroom and bathroom excellent - comfy bed and practical bathroom with excellent shower. Service and menu selection in the bar and restaurant and reception were also excellent, and I was particularly impressed that you maintained a personal touch right from the start of the booking confirmation. To be contacted personally by telephone to enquire whether we needed a booking for dinner on our arrival day was special, as at that stage we had no idea what was available in the locality. In the end by chance we ate at The Bell on the Sunday evening - another member of your Chestnut Group. Keep doing all the little things right and you will I am sure continue with this success. We look forward to another stay in one of the Groups venues.

Room four was described as cosy, this also applied to the shower which was rather restricted and did not have much space for washing your hair without catching the cubicle sides. The hot tap on the sink swivelled when turning. It was very warm, the two fans supplied were not enough to cool the room. The window would only open 2 inches at the top and it was difficult to circulate air. It was an exceptionally hot day but it was difficult to sleep. We did report this when checking out.
