Temperature of room was difficult to regulate. Checking in at a bar, no privacy. Beds were too hard for me, no mattress toppers.

Nothing really. The Crown is always comfortable and welcoming. I appreciate that they are having staffing difficulties at the moment - there were notices apologising that they wouldn't be able to make up all the rooms each day due to short staffing/recruitment issues - but this didn't cause us any problems. It is an industry-wide problem in hospitality at the moment.

We've stayed at the Crown several times and the quality of our stay keeps bringing us back. This was the first time we were in this room and it was really nice to have a bath as well as a shower. The inn is over 300 years old but manages to combine just enough 'olde worlde' charm to be memorable with all the modern facilities you would expect to be really comfortable. As usual, the breakfast was excellent. I also recommend booking for dinner. We will be back next year.

This is super picky really, but I would have liked curtains in the bedroom. The blinds make it feel a bit bare. A few pictures on the wall.

We didn't have any evening meals at The Crown, mainly because they only started serving at 6.30 pm which was rather later than the children were used to, especially after a full day out. Some of the adults did enjoy a drink in the bar in the evening, but felt there wasn't a great selection of beer to choose from.

The hotel was very charming, the rooms spacious and very clean. the beds and bedding were high quality. It was lovely to have double size beds for single person use and they were extremely comfortable. We loved being in an annex slightly apart from the main hotel rooms, so peaceful! Breakfast was also excellent, good quality produce and cooked well. The waitress was really lovely and so kind to the children, making sure they chose exactly what they wanted so the whole experience was very relaxing.

Not a negative point for me, but the rustic style of the space and decorations are not for everyone.

The room was really big which was great for us to manage our luggage. It was very clean. The breakfast was good.

The steep stairs inside the pub

We were originally given a room at the top of the pub . The stairs are pretty steep so I requested an exchange of rooms . Not a problem and was then offered a room out of the back of the pub / hotel which was ground level and easy parking ... I was very kindly offered a take out breakfast from the friendly staff on Sunday am ... Was a really kind gesture thankyou to all who looked after us Sat afternoon - Sunday am

Not unexpected, given this was also a very popular pub, and we stayed Friday and Saturday nights, but it was noisy (music, talking on the terrace under our bedroom windows went on until after midnight).

My room was very good, but my friend's had nowhere to hang her towels. Excellent food, both breakfast and dinner, with a good range of choices on the dinner menu.

Room was comfortable and clean, larger than we expected. Well furnished and comfortable soft bed. Had a meal in the bar in the evening, good pub menu, and food was served promptly, and was very nice and good value. Had booked a breakfast for the morning, good selection available, had a vegetarian breakfast which was lovely and filling

The parking situation. Not many spaces available. Had to park across the road, felt a little unsafe. A little noisy due to nature of hotel, but as it was a Friday evening, it was expected.

Breakfast was nice, service was good. The bed was very comfortable and a nice size room.
