Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe room was very small (for the price) and there were only 2 surfaces to put our things. Not surprisingly for an old pub there were minimal electric sockets. There was only 1 spare socket at one side of the bed which was challenging to charge up 2 phones, tablet and computer.
Our room was quiet and very comfortable. Everything worked with a very comfortable bed, a great shower and breakfast was delivered to the room in a hamper. The breakfast was a continental one made up of local fresh ingredients. The restaurant served very nice well prepared food. It was amazingly quiet considering the A24 was close by which of course made very easy access to the main road and was 10 minutes walk from Knepp rewilding project

United KingdomCheck-in is after 3:00 p.m. at the very time the pub beneath closes for a couple of hours so you can't get a drink on arrival! Would have liked a cooked breakfast option rather than an additional fee for a continental basket delivered to the room. No staff as such it's self check in though that wasn't in any way a problem for us.
Excellent location for our dawn safari at Knepp. Very comfortable bed and a clean and inviting little room. Good choice of coffee and tea and a nice view of the village green opposite.

United KingdomShower a bit temperamental and the room lacked a wardrobe as it was a bit cramped. My suggestion would be ditch the dresser in the entrance and have a shallow wardrobe there instead to hang clothes. I was alone but had that been a couple you would have really struggled with hanging space and space for luggage etc.
Room overlooked the village green and was well appointed with coffee machine, kettle and even some homemade biscuits. I rarely sleep well in hotels as my own bed and linens etc don't normally compare. However this hotel has spent money on decent beds and mattresses and it was very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and their homemade breakfast bar is lovely. I brought my 2 collie dogs with me who were very welcome and there was even dog treats in the room.

United KingdomRoom was compact. Stern ancestral portraits were a little wierd and off putting. A bit dusty in all materials then in the air.
Efficient venue, sever saw staff or host except when at pub dining. All worked well. Felt comfortable.

United KingdomThe breakfast. The coffee machine didn’t work for us but the staff said they tested it and it was fine.
The location was fine. The breakfast was very disappointing. It was delivered in a hamper but there wasn’t really anywhere to eat it except on the bed. I don’t eat meat or dairy and my breakfast consisted of a glass of juice, a small bowl of cereal, half a dozen pineapple chunks, a bit of (day old) bread and a little pot of honey. I left a note saying that we were disappointed and I got an email back saying that the pub believed it represented good value.

United KingdomIt was quite cold in the morning and there weren't any mini-heaters in the room, but I tend to get chilly very easily!
I stayed here the night before my wedding - the bed was very comfortable and the pub downstairs was fantastic. Loved the little touches in the room as well. Check-in was seamless and the room was very quiet.

United KingdomThe bathroom was across the hall which wasn't stated in room description. Also we all struggled to fit under the shower as it was very low ceiling in the bathroom.
The room was stunning, it worked really well as it was a group of 3 of us. Real attention to detail in the room itself. Food was lovely and the staff were very attentive and friendly.

United KingdomSmall room for four people although grateful that it was available and dog accepted. Packed continental breakfast in the room. Personally, I would have preferred to eat it in the pub restaurant. Didn’t know beforehand which room we were having so didn’t know that it had a separate bathroom. Shower is built for someone under 5’6”
Decor was lovely. Comfortable bed. Great location - very close to Knepp estate which has lovely walks of various distance. Food in the restaurant was also very good and catered for gluten free diet.

United KingdomBreakfast was delivered to your room in a hamper, but there was no facilities to eat it at other than sat on your bed, which can be quite tricky when you have bowls of cereal. The breakfast was charged at a rate of £10 per person & you were entitled to a small bowl of cereal plus & portion of bread with a slice of ham & cheese or jam. Very overpriced. The owners entered the room to restock the coffee pods but you don't get your bed made up, very disappointing considering the price you are paying.
The room was beautifully decorated.
